"Your assumptions are, sadly, correct young man."

Alucard's voice floating on the stale air of Vatheon, soft and gentle as he approaches the extravagantly dressed, silver-haired, young man. Alucard could sense a new presence in Vatheon quite easily, especially when their essence was tainted mixed with that of the paranormal. He was not yet quite skilled enough to figure out what dark aura it was this young man held, but he could feel it nonetheless.

"I was only recently torn from my world myself, there is a lot to learn and I fear I am not the best to explain it to you... But that is of little mind now, I suppose, are you all right? I trust the arrival did not scathe you?"

"Oh, wonderful~"

Dante looked over the man who was now in front of him. He was certainly pretty for a guy, but there was something else hidden underneath. What it was, he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

He looked himself over, making sure nothing had torn or scratched at him since he arrived. Nope, nothing. "It seems I'm perfectly fine, thank you."

Alucard was genuinely sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it was preferable to leaving this young man in total ignorance.

"I am glad to hear you are unharmed." Alucard paused for a moment, his voice as calm and gentle as it had been, but he felt his eyes narrow as that scent became all the more unsettling and -without a hint of hesitation- he added "You are not entirely human, are you?"

The question surpised him just a bit, but it didn't really bother him. He was used to it by now. "No, but I'm surprised you can tell that easily. You aren't either, then? Human, I mean."

He tilted his head to the side and crossed his arms, a smirk forming along with a cocky glint to his eyes. This place sure held different kinds of people. A beer would be nice right about now.

Alucard knew that his instincts were correct. In fact, he almost felt quite proud of himself for being able to sense as much.

"No, or at least, half of me is not. My other half does gift me with certain abilities, one of which was being able to... sense your nature. If that makes any sense at all... There are others like me here... Like you, who tend to have darker heritages than most normal men."

Half and half. He lets out a soft chuckle. "So this world, it takes others from different worlds and brings them here, only for them to not be able to leave. Do they use it to drain their energy? Because that would be such a pain in the ass."

It's too bad the man didn't tell him what his other half was. If he had, maybe Dante would have let him in on his own little not-so-secret.

All that Alucard could sense was that Dante was not entirely human, nor vampire. He could feel familiarity in both humans and vampires but this man had something quite different, in fact, it reminded him of that young butler, Sebastian, that his Father had introduced him to.

"You... are wise in your assumptions," Alucard said with some remorse "for this place does weaken one over time. You may not be able to feel it now, but over time, it weighs on heavily. Or at least it has with me." Alucard had to deal with this strange draining of his energy as well as that constant hunger, yes, he felt exhausted most of the time.

"Tell me... what are you, for I have felt another here with your same aura and you scent is unfamiliar to me."

"I'm Dante Sparda, a half-demon. But I'm not one to favor other demons, so at home, I'd hunt them down and kill them for a job. Pretty good money, too. Sadly, I didn't get paid sometimes. Tut tut...I have to use something to buy things with." He smirks and steps a bit closer to Alucard.

"What about you~?"

A half demon, now, Alucard had heard little of demons bar the infernal and altogether annoying incubi and succubi that haunted his Father's castle. They were cruel tormentors of humans that lived to exact pain and suffering for their own pleasure. So, naturally, knowing that much felt a little on edge when Dante stepped closer (although he had no intention of stepping back).

"I am a Dhampire, a term that most seem unfamiliar with... My mother was human, my father; vampire."

"A hybrid of the two species? Interesting. It don't think I've come across any vampires." He could sense the other being a bit tense when he approached, but he didn't make any moves to step away.

"Do you have a name?" There was something about his tone that was teasing.

Alucard was so unaccustomed to conversation with men or beasts or anything in between that he had no idea that Dante was teasing him and almost felt offended by that question.

"Well of course I do," he said, clearing his throat and trying his best to sound positive "You may call me Alucard, and I am not entirely surprised that you have not met that many vampires as we are quite illusive... Although there are a few here now, most of them are, unlike me, complete vampires."

"No need to get your panties in a twist." He laughed. "It's nice to meet you, Aucard." and maybe if he ran into the other vampires around here they'd have some fun challenges for him. This guy was kind of innocent, from what he's seen. Of course, he's only comparing him to the demons he's slain, so he can't really say much.

Dante's hungry, remember? Remember it's all about him?

That comment took Alucard so aback that his response came out in a stammer.

"I-I beg your pardon?!" Panties? Women's things? Clearly this man was more than a little brash. Alucard would have to ignore that comment entirely so that he could continue their conversation.

"It is a... pleasure to meet you too, Dante." Now, to change the subject "Now that I think on it, Dante is a rather unusual name, it makes me think of the poem the Divine Comedy."

Dante laughs at Alucard's reaction, but shakes his head. "Never heard of that poem. But then again, I don't read that much."

"Alucard's a pretty unsual name, too. But you are a vampire, afterall. Dracula." There's a slight serious note to his teasing, but then he gets to the point -- "I'm hungry."

"Well you ought to, they say that reading is for the mind what exercise is for the bod--" he was cut short and stunned by Dante's powers of deduction. People in his homeland hadn't paid enough attention to his name to realise it's significance. It had taken this man less than a minute to decipher it.

"What's that?! Now, wait a moment there, you have barely spoken to me and yet you have deciphered my alias?" Did he just say alias? For goodness sake, this demon-man was flustering him. "Do you have some sort of... demonic powers at your disposal? And please refrain from changing the subject like that. You should really answer me and then I can escort you to somewhere where you can find something suitable to eat."

"Decipher? It's a pretty easy thing to figure out~ and yes, I do, but I don't use them too much." He ignores Alucard's last little bickering and starts to walk off in a random direction. "If the food is this way I'll find out with or without you."

Damn straight Dante always got what he wanted, being polite about it or not.
