While sleeping, or perhaps just taking a stroll throughout the city of Vatheon at night, one might feel a sudden chill in the air before in the blink of an eye, everything has changed.
Quite unsettling would be the right phrase for it, one would suppose.
Suddenly, the city of Vatheon has grown a shade darker perhaps. The shadows are blacker, the noises are sharper, and a chill lingers in the air and up your bones, seeping into your brain and just creating the lingering fear of what might be around the corner.
Cobwebs hang in the appropriate places, jack-o-lanterns will be lighting up that window across the way, and jellyfish linger in the streets, little bat wings sprouting out of their sides as they light the way from here to there. One more "decoration" is prominent in Vatheon -- the locals. Each and every one of them seem to have turned into walking, talking skeletons. They'll still greet you like normal, do not worry, dear citizen.
The style of dress has also changed. Each and every person in Vatheon -- foreigner and local alike -- will be dressed in a formal wear, the type one might fine at a masquerade ball. Somewhere close to their person will be a mask that accompanies the outfit. If looking for different clothes, the search will turn up empty. Each piece of clothing in Vatheon has been replaced.
Then, to top off the whole thing, if one decides to visit the edge of the city -- the barrier closing them in from the ocean around them -- they will find hanging close to the barrier are skeletal anglerfish, just... staring into the city. A blank stare of the skeleton fish, their lights being the only thing still alive.
Perhaps a trick. Perhaps a treat.
