For Alucard to awaken outside of his coffin was disturbing; but to then be faced with a ceiling made of glass and water on top of the initial shock, well... it was almost too much for the young dhampire to cope with all at once. He had always had a terrible fear of water; of drowning, his father had told him horror stories of young vampires falling into waist high water and, being completely unable to swim and often paralyized, sinking and drowning. Whether those stories were entirely true was to be said but they had left the half-breed terrified of water with a depth of over three feet.
Perhaps a normal man would not have known so quickly that he was in the depths of some far off ocean but Alucard could see the way the light bounced and refracted off of the dome and knew almost instantly.
It took him some time to gather the courage to stand, to come back to his senses finally, and as he overcame his initial shock he found himself lost, wondering where on Earth -if this even was Earth- he was. His mind was still waking from his long slumber, the last few things he could remember were the white witch Maria and the death of his father. How many years had passed since those events? And how had he somehow managed to come to this place. Nobody knew of the family crypts where he had sealed himself away, surely, and if someone had found out about them then why move him? Surely it would've been in the slayer's (or grave-robber's) best interest to kill him and steal whatever he had on him. But his family crest ring remained on his ring finger, he was still clothed in the luxurious (and extremely fashionable!) clothing. It made no sense to him.
What force had brought him here, and for what purpose? Alucard suddenly felt very vulnerable, as though whatever had brought him to this place was now watching him and in that moment his senses were bombarded with an array of "scents" and aura.
He was not alone here.
Alucard could sense it; a collage of creatures; humans, animals, demons... Vampires. All of their emotions, their feelings, melding together and flooding his being. There were some that stood out more than others and as reluctant as Alucard was to admit it to himself, he could sense the darker, more foreboding presences a lot more easily than he could the softer, gentler souls. But among all of the creatures he could sense there was one, dark aura that both broke his heart and petrified it. It was a familiar odor of his father, King of the Undead. What a rancid, comforting scent it was and it caused the young dhampire to frown deeply, the delicate features of his porcelain face twisting as he did so.
He could not stay here, he decided, as soon as he found a method in which he could leave, he would. Even if his father was here.
