Posted this on kh_drabble as well. I kept wanting to write a KH/Meet the Robinsons crossover. ^^ Finally gave in to the urge.

Anyone who saw them walking by would think what nice young people they were- all laughter and happy faces, smiles, nods, soft hellos to everyone they met. If they were a little oddly dressed, or the hair on the two boys was a little strange, they still seemed like such nice boys, and the girl between them, one arm linked with each, had such a pretty smile.

They must have been from out of town.

Had anyone stood close enough to them to hear their conversation, the idea would have been cemented. Definitely out of town.

Out of world, in fact.

"-but that's what we were doing. Now, I'm nowhere near as good as the King- but all you do is pay attention and listen to your heart. How do you think I knew you needed hints?"

"How did you know to open that portal for me?" Kairi offered.

Riku nodded. "Exactly. Sometimes it's a matter of looking for potential Darkness- then doing what you can to keep it from spreading."

"It sounds hard," Sora murmured.

"No- you've been doing it for years now. The difference is that the King's so good at it that he can stop things before the Darkness even becomes visible. So you were cleaning up the situations that had gotten out of hand- and the King and I were trying to make sure a few situations never got to that point."

There was a moment of silence- and in that exact moment, Sora's stomach growled. They all snickered.

"Let's take care of that before it gets out of hand," Kairi said, looking around. There was, conveniently, a hot-dog stand just across the street, attached to the admissions gate of a small baseball field.

"There you go- fifty munny for three hot dogs, and make sure you cheer for our Dinos!" the vendor said cheerfully.

They topped off their dogs with conveniently placed condiments and, rather than going into the bleachers, stretched their legs around the sidewalk past first base and headed around the outfield.

"So," Sora licked ketchup from his finger, "if we'd gotten some interference early on... maybe talked the whole 'raft' thing out..."

Riku shook his head, looking suddenly quite serious. "No- some things have to happen. You were going to get the Keyblade, I was going to open the door to Darkness. It... sometimes a world has to go through the struggle so other worlds can be saved." Then he smiled. "But some worlds get to fix themselves."

Kairi slowed, chewing her dog and relish, distracted by the game. In tune with her movements even though they'd disengaged a little to eat, the boys stopped.

"Sometimes, even though you don't understand why, you just have to do what you feel is right. Things will happen that you never even expected- and you could have done the most insignificant thing."

Sora nodded. "Just gotta follow your heart."

Kairi suddenly gasped, staring upward. The boys followed her gaze and all three saw the baseball arching up, and up, and right at the small boy standing in the outfield, fast asleep.

"Oh-"

"Uh-oh."

"Wake up!" Kairi shouted.

The child blinked, raised his glove-

the ball fell right into it.

The trio outside the fence cheered as the Dinos ran out to little Mikey Yagoobian and lifted him on their shoulders for a victory march.

"See?" Riku said jokingly. "Kairi probably just saved the world."
