Yesterday was a lot of fun.
Colin and I went out early and I blindfolded him and drove him to the Inner Harbor. Then I made him keep his eyes closed as I led him across heavy traffic and up and down curbs. When he opened his eyes...we were at the Science Center! We love the Science Center! It was the first date-type excursion that I ever asked him on and I thought it would be terribly cutesy if we went for Valentine's Day/Half-A-Year Anniversary.
We explored physics, space, and the human body. We went through the new Titanic exhibit (which was very touching), and then we uncovered fossils and saw some dinosaurs. Then we saw the IMAX movie about volcanoes, earthquakes, and tornadoes. It was swell.
Then we went to Uno's to eat, followed by a trip to Barnes & Noble. Finally we went back to the car and tried to get out of the lot. Unfortunately, we needed $20 to get out of the lot, or $15 if we had a validation stamp on a parking coupon associated with the Science Center. We showed the attendant our tickets and apparently that wasn't good enough. So we had to manuveur around the line of people behind us, park the car again, go back to the Science Center, get a stamp, come back, and try again. Which really seemed uneccessary.
We came home and exchanged gifts two days early. Colin got me some
pretty heart plugs for my ears. I've always figured that when a guy gets me jewelry in the proper sizes then he'd be a keeper. And Colin sure is. I got him some cupcake-making supplies and the Saved! DVD. Once again, it was the first movie we saw together one-on-one and I thought it would be terribly cutesy to make Valentine's Day-themed cupcakes to eat while we watched it together.
It was cutesy, but we felt very sick after eating only three cupcakes each. We must be getting old, because that never would have happened three months ago. Or maybe we're getting diabetic.
