Crossover antics with Erky~

"Kyonko-chan! It's time to get up!"

Kyonko groaned, pulling the covers over her head and mentally cursing whoever decided that her little brother just had to be her own personal alarm clock. Really, why did he insist on waking her up this early every single day? It wasn't fair to her or ( Read more... )

"I can't believe he actually demanded we get paired up together," Kyonko said the next day while the two of them wandered through the park.

She was still shocked her parents had bought the story of her going out to study with the Brigade and even more shocked she was getting time alone with Erk on top of that. Kyonko had honestly thought that morning in her house would be her last chance for a long time and here Haruki was just handing her what she had wanted since she left Nagato's apartment the other day!

'Okay, is the world seriously ending. Haruki normally isn't this nice--even if he doesn't realize he's being nice to me for once.'

She looked up at Erk, unable to stop smiling when she did so.

"Anything you want me to show you? Haruki's little 'searched for the unknown' always wind up producing absolutely nothing, so we're pretty much free to do whatever until he calls and demands I pay for lunch for everyone."

Erk sighed. He wondered how long he could avoid having to explain what he'd been told to do; he had a feeling her good mood would vanish very quickly once he did. "I don't have anything particular in mind... anything you really think I should see that I haven't yet?"

"Not off the top of my head," she said with a shrug, "It's weird, I spent months thinking of all the things I'd show you if you were here and now that you are, I can't remember a single one."

She ran her hand through her hair again, wondering if she should let it down. This would probably be the closest she'd get to a proper date with Erk for a while, but how would she explain it if she ran into Haruki?

....why was she acting like such a teenage girl?!

Erk would probably have felt even guiltier if he'd known what she was thinking. He was pretty sure it showed on his face, at this point, too...

"Erk....? You okay?" she asked, noticing the look. For a moment she couldn't breathe. The last time she'd seen him look guilty like that had been after his first foray into the hotel right after they'd gotten together....

"Did something happen?"

Erk sighed. I knew it. Oh, well, no use in trying to hide it now.

"Haruki dragged us to the costume shop after you left yesterday."

She facepalmed.

"He didn't stick you in one of those chipendale's outfits, did he? No offense, but with some of those scars you've got, it'd wind up backfiring a bit unless you put a shirt on."

Not that the chipendale's outfit wasn't an appealing thought that made Kyonko blush just thinking about it--about Erk in one--but Haruki's obsession with them was still an embarrassing fact of the club's existence.

But that didn't explain why he looked so guilty....

"He did, except this one had a shirt. A rather tight one, but a shirt. It didn't really help that he decided I was dressing too slowly and tried to strangle me with the bow tie."

He shook his head. "And a couple of dresses, too. Including that witch outfit. But... they also decided just what my initiation was going to be," he added, going red.

"That thing exists here? Geez. Should I be looking out for that broom, too?" she grumbled, glancing around warily and trying not to think too hard about the image of Erk in that outfit with Haruki wrestling him into the bow tie and--

'Out of the gutter!'

"W-what's the initiation?" she said, trying not to think of just how appealing the thought of Erk-in-a-dress was.

"I don't think so. Though he insists that I could pass for a girl if they did something to my hair."

He sighed. "That's the problem. I have to get you into a costume for tomorrow. Apparently it's a test of courage - talking you into it - and trustworthiness - which is mostly not talking you into wearing something that should normally go under clothes."

"....And that's why Haruki paired us up together today?" she said in a vague tone, staring straight ahead and not looking Erk in the face.

"I'm afraid so," he muttered, going red and attempting to hide behind his hair. "I managed to find a costume that wasn't too bad, but it's still... you know."

"Well.... I kind of owe the guy for letting us have some alone time today," she said in a considering tone before looking up at Erk, "And I trust you. It isn't.... well, it isn't as bad as the junk the hotel puts me in, is it?"

Erk sighed. "No, it's not too bad. Better than quite a few of the other costumes I found."

"As long as it's not the bunny girl outfit or the maid costume...." she said in a considering tone, "I.... well, I guess if it'll get you on his good side, it couldn't hurt."

She gave him a serious look. "But if he starts trying to use you to get me into more, the answer will always be no. Got it?"

"Of course." He'd half-considered saying no this time, but he hadn't been sure what the result would be. "And, er... it's more or less a pirate costume, I think. Given the kind of things he's been trying to get the rest of us into I was surprised it wasn't too conservative for him.
