"Kyonko-chan! It's time to get up!"
Kyonko groaned, pulling the covers over her head and mentally cursing whoever decided that her little brother just had to be her own personal alarm clock. Really, why did he insist on waking her up this early every single day? It wasn't fair to her or

Oh, and she had to call her parents every hour on the hour for the next week whenever she was out of school or the house.
And the chores she had to do on her days off from school....
It could've been worse. At least she could tell her parents she was going to the library to do homework with Nagato and it sound like the truth. It didn't sit well to be lying to them like this, but she'd barely slept the night before and had been distracted and fidgeting throughout the very tense dinner the previous night, barely slept the night, and spent school constantly undoing and redoing her hair, much to Haruki's chagrin.
That was another thing, Haruki had obviously picked up on her being on edge and had been yelling at her more than he usually did. She knew he wanted to know why both she and Nagato were gone from school the previous day and knew it had to do with her helping a "friend," but Haruki, true to his nature, refused to outright ask.
Kyonko had never been more glad of Haruki not being interested in a person's personal life.
"You're sure he's fine, Nagato?" Kyonko asked quietly while she walked her bike up the steps of the library toward the racks.
"Yes," the tall boy answered, "He was given enough money to purchase sustenance from the vending machines and then left to his own devices. He should still be here even now if the way you have described him is accurate."
"Sorry! It's just.... it's scary in a new world with no one you know there."
"He knows you."
"Yeah, but--"
"He knows you."
Kyonko was silent as she finished chaining up her bike and walked alongside Nagato into the library. Nagato paused for a moment at the door before walking towards who they were looking for.
"He is this way. Itsuko Koizumi and Mitsuru Asahina will join us shortly."

He looked up as they approached. "Afternoon."

"Here, you usually forget to eat when you're left in a library long enough," she told him with a small smile and then glanced at the books he had, "What are you looking up?"
Nagato merely inclined his head in greeting, but was otherwise silent.

"It would take approximately eighty-nine hours, fifty-eight minutes, and twelve seconds to complete the whole set."
Kyonko looked sheepishly at Nagato.
"It was a figure of speech."

"I-I'm just used to it when it comes to you," she said softly before looking up at him again. It was hard to believe, though. Her? Open with affection? Just how much had those travels between nexuses affected her? Or was it just how she was with Erk?
"Anyway, you wouldn't have to worry about that. People would assume you're from America or Europe or something. Especially since--wait. Nagato? How is he speaking Japanese?"
"The transference across dimensions has left a residual effect from the nexus called Infinity which allows one to perceive others as if they are speaking in their own language when not from their own point in space-time."
"Huh?"
"I believe the common term is: Infinity did it."

Kyonko fidgeted a bit. The club meeting today had been tense, and not just because of Haruki's foul mood. She knew Itsuko was, at the very least, angry with her for not telling her about being dragged between worlds and Asahina? He kept looking at her with such a disappointed look she couldn't even finish his tea. It'd been one of the biggest reliefs of her life when Haruki finally called the meeting to a close and she left with Nagato to come see him.
"It'll be fine, Erk," she said with another smile and nodded her head to the front doors of the library, "Come on, why don't wait on the steps. You can eat there."

"Find anything interest at all?" Kyonko asked more to make conversation than anything else.
