tb what are you thinking?
Things I have noticed on season 4 so far and question the writers...
- I might be one of few people who noticed the obvious Asian female fetish with Luna (ok tbf she's Hispanic in the books but Janina is of Indian descent) and Tara's girlfriend. With Tara, let's just say if I was the writer I'd relieve her from her struggles from previous seasons, namely season 3. She wasn't in the books as much but she still carried a significance as an important character in Sookie's life. I think the writers have been trying too hard to make her a valuable or interesting character though doing it in a way that's frustrating. Why make Tara a typical hot headed black woman who can't get the (white) man and got shit whatever she did and was abused by Franklin? She should've gone a long time ago. Poor woman didn't deserve that much chaos at her. What the hell was Alan Ball thinking?
- I've been reading this blog post about Jason's 'rape' by all the female Werepanthers. There are a lot of comments there which discusses the double standard of rape between men and women. If that scene was generally not classified as rape then I have to say WTF. I did however think there was a subtly kinky sex reference which gay erotica fans might like when Timbo was licking Jason's blood off and Jason says he's more of a Band Aid guy.
- Why kill off Claudine quickly? This might not bother those who haven't read the books but Claudine had quite a lot of scenes in the later volumes of SVM when it came to the Faerie war. Wonder how long Claude will last in season 4 till he gets eaten. He's still around in the books though. Actually are they going to include more Faerie characters in later episodes after Quinn shows up? If Quinn is going to be in the TV series, that is...
