I think I've grown so attached to the Anime over time that I feel distant from the movie, including the prequel. Olivia Lufkin to me is more Reira and I guess some Tsuchiya Anna songs provide the Nana sound. I still definitely like Nakashima Mika as Oosaki Nana though I think the downfall for this sequel was that many more details were taken out to fit the 2h10 length.
E.g.
- Not a lot of friendship angst between the Nanas
- Hachi's thing with Takumi and Nobu was rushed
- No Reira/Shin cuteness at all
Also the cast changes didn't make many fans happy. I grew fond of Miyazaki Aoi as Hachi while watching the first movie. She was cuter and the new actor for Ren caught me by surprise when I first saw him. Yasu still managed to whack the reporter when he tried to get Nana to come out of her apartment for an interview :D I think the only new actor I liked was the young chap playing Shin. He was sweet. Thankfully it's still Tamayama Tetsuji playing Takumi. He has Takumi's height (6ft) and looks. In other words he's just as phwoarsome. I think I was looking at his boots, long hair and rings most of the time XD Talk about being a shallow fangirl.
