"Leader of the gang"

After reading the not so good humour on these posts it got me thinking about a variety of things (apart from officially depart from that community in the same way I did for the_trax)

Notice how the leading characters and leaders of bands get a lot of criticism. It's easy to pick out leading females from TV or Animanga series who get the bad side of fans but what about the musical side? There's a disturbing trend going on, wouldn't you say? Plus I've spotted status similarities between some of my favourite musicians o.O

Quietly approved

Pata, Heath, Taiji = Jason Orange, Howard Donald These guys are certainly favoured by the fans but aren't as popular as their fellow bandmates.

Leader of the pack

Hayashi Yoshiki = Mana, Gary Barlow These guys are leaders of their respective bands and get a ton of bashing for their demanding personality. I've always viewed Gary and Yoshiki as the big brothers even if they're not the oldest. Without those two their band wouldn't be around. So Gary bashers, just because your precious Take That man is supposedly way cooler than the main songwriter doesn't mean you should bash him. Without Gary the rest of Take That would be finis. Think of the leader/big brother of your fav band's presence as your parents' role. Without your parents you wouldn't have come into this world nor be dressed, cleaned and given luxuries to keep you living.

Robbie said himself he was already going down the path of destruction through drugs before joining the band so don't put the blame on someone else. Also none of the members hate each other. Stop the unnecessary bashing in communities. You're meant to show support for the entire band not whack one member to pieces. Robbie and Gary have fixed their rifts from the past. Can we just leave it at that? God poor Toshi suffers in the same way as Yoshiki. And Mana, well I've covered him in a previous entry as well as gone further on that infamous clip showing an angry Yoshiki.

Flamboyant and rebellious favs

Matsumoto Hideto = Robbie Williams, Mark Owen hide's flamboyancy and super popularity is without a doubt like Robbie Williams' solo career and as for the reliable side I'd say it's a reminder of Mark Owen. Most people think Mark Owen is like the peacemaker and I can understand why lots of fans liked him in the past. He was cute, short and cheeky ^^;;

As much as I enjoy hide and Robbie's solo work I've sadly encountered hardcore hide and Robbie fans who completely belittle the bands they came from. Um newsflash to those people, if there was no X Japan or TT we wouldn't have heard a lot about said guys. And Yoshiki's decision to create VioletUK is not a crime. So what if the music isn't old school X. He likes symphonic music.

On a random side of things I think anti_gackt and anti_mana really contradict themselves as communities. They say in the profile page that they're not bashing Mana or Gackt because the mods are poking fun and that's it. So why are they allowing some haters to join and bash? Couldn't they have made the name a little bit clearer? Anti-this or that clearly implies there will be tons of bashing which is often vulgar. I'd have understood it if the parody communities would be more of fans who poke fun at Gackt or Mana but don't hate on them or something like that. antigackt however is indeed a bashing community which is seemingly out of fun. Yeah right. I have nothing against Gackt in general and know there are some smart supporters out there who also feel the rabid or elitist fanbase dominate the Jrock fandom.
