Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with you almost point for point here. I'd heard it suggested before that all humans now were descended from the human/cylon set-up, but that seemed too much like a stupid, over-used sci-fi trope to be possible. Then they arrive at Earth-prime and that idea seemed completely blown out of the water. But wait, no, in fact that will be exactly how it goes down.

And so many plot holes that I guess all get explained away by being part of "God's plan." Yeah, that second half served up a big ol' helping of weaksauce. It didn't need to happen. They could have just ended with the cylons getting resurrection again and an uneasy truce being declared. It would have fit more with the series and it's lack of clear winners and losers. Instead we get this.

Why did we expect more? The original series was an allegory for Mormonism. I guess it was too much to hope that, since they'd taken the initial idea and made a good show out of it, they could continue making a good program instead of resorting to cheap, pathetic, simple-minded god-bothering. So disappointing.
