... why do I even make my avoidingwork time relate to my research?

So, someone asked me to post this. I'm honestly a little uncomfortable with it. Most poeple I know will skim to the end and then dismiss it as something the "right attitude" heals, which is totally out of line. Also, let's face it, this isn't a medical or academic article. It also seems to skim well over a lot of information, such as the naure of "the person, the type of trauma involved, and the emotional support they receive", the vast and important discussions in psychoanalytic theory, and the relationships with the emergence of disassociative disorders.
In other words, by skimming over important clairifying information, by only using wildley acknowledged cuases, and by limiting affects, I worry this article only perpetuates popular prejudices.
That being said, I love the first paragraph. So check it out for that alone, if you just want a quickie.

If you're just trapped indoors today and are bored, check out the work of Yayoi Kusama. I'm absolutely enthralled by the relationship of her art to her own psychological disorder and the resulting questions of space and body, gender and social penetrations and threats. Shine!
