Agreed! And it's nice to see you being unforgiving about SRK (for the first time I must say).
I watched Omkara last Saturday, and it was decent (3* rating). Had fun translating the cuss-words for Charu!
I watched KANK on Sunday. And what a disappointment (1*) - I never wanted to go for a 3.5 hour cry-drama in the first place. Unfortunately, Charu had free tickets from her bank, and coupled with the lure of Karan Johar, it was as attractive to her as a UV zapper is to a housefly.
I am left wondering why Rani Mukerjee lubricated most of the second half of the movie with kilolitres of glycerine. What's the bloody woman's problem anyway? Many of the cause-effect hypotheses in the movie are tenuous at best. SRK looks old and fails to dazzle with his staccato delivery style. His trademark "come sky, and hug me" outstretched arms routine now seems so cliched. AB Jr. looks good in angry/destructive scenes (I thought he was great in Yuva). AB Sr. needs to stop dying pitiful deaths in his films...once again, he seemed to be struggling in his role. Preity was too boxed into her role to let any of her natural exuberance illuminate what was obviously a dark subject!
Very disappointing - must make mental note not to revisit the KJ space again.
