The door bell just rang. I went downstairs to answer and three young (college age) people were standing there, one of whom had an Obama button on. Of course, they thought they'd try to persuade me to vote for Obama. And they were certainly nice enough. They didn't argue, get upset, or even bash McCain (maybe partly because I indicated I wasn't terribly fond of him either). Much to my surprise, they listened and seemed to understand at least some of what I said during our maybe 20 minute conversation. I love it when people come to the door so I can share the philosophy of freedom with them!
Towards the end of the conversation, it occurred to me that I should ask them to campaign for me. Why not, right? I asked if they were from Keene. They said no. You guessed it, Massachusetts.
So Obama is so weak in New Hampshire that he can't find enough people from here to campaign for him, but using out-of-state campaigners, he might actually win the state. The same thing happened in 2004 and Kerry won New Hampshire. Don't underestimate how dirty politics can really get...
