Unique birthday year

Jan 08, 2010 10:49

This year, a one-time-only event happens. It's this very month. In fact, it's today and tomorrow. So pardon me while I briefly delve into the numerological aspect of the birthdays of my children.

Edison and Erin are 364 days apart. So every year, for one day, they're the same age. Every year, Erin catches up, and the next day, Edison leaves her behind again. That makes their birthdays pretty special to begin with. Not many siblings are the same age exactly one day per year.

But for those who are, one year in their lives will be extra special. For Edison and Erin, this year, 2010, is that year. What happens today and tomorrow will only happen once, ever for them. Here it is:

Erin turns 8 on the 8th (today).

Edison turns 9 on the 9th (tomorrow).

Today, on the 8th, they're both 8.

So they turn 8 on the 8th, and 9 on the 9th, in '10.

Happy Birthday, Erin and Edison!!! :)
