Hullo again dahhlings
So terribly sorry I've neglected to update my LJ! A lot has happened since my last update! And I have a new background.
Um, lessee... We had a tournament, and no one won anything, but I know that for me and rene at least, we played ok... so no regrets there. and plus, rene brought sushi and kishan brought mangos and we ate sausage wraps so it was all good.
I also got a new phone, which yall have all seen so thats no big...
Oh I know -- Ann and I watched a movie about coups in venezuela for extra credit in economics - I thought it was really good, but Ann didnt so we left before it finished (gosh ann. didnt get to see the ending...) and then went to go get her ears pierced at a shady tatoo/piercing parlor, but she wasn't old enough.
ANYWAYS.
Today we went to whataburger and it was nothing special. And I'm starting to get sick of hamburgers. bah. Oh we bought organic milk and it tastes funky. like cardboard. thats ok though, you can't really taste anything if you use it with cereal. so yeah that was kindof random but whatever.
Oh ok so i've noticed that at dinner, i end up talking the most. Here's how dinner goes: I ask my dad, "dad, how was your day?" and he says "Ok" or "fine" or "busy". Then I ask my mom, "Mom, how was your day?" and she says "boring" or "ok". Then I say, "ok, Aimee, how was your day?" and she talks about her special she went to or what she did etc, which takes up a bit more time than mom/dads responses, which are next to nil, but anyways, and THEN i say, "ok, so for my day..." and talk about something that happened in every period. and then i usually rattle on about random articles or things that happened and my parents just sit there with blank expressions, and today after dinner i was still talking about my book that i had to finish and my mom was like NICOLE STOP TALKINGGG!!! and yeah i think it freaks them out when i start talking too fast.
and OK so IM ALMOST DONE WITH ATLAS SHRUGGED!!!! i only have about 150 pages left! this book is killing me, becuase I love how strong the main characters are, and what they stand for with regard to human thought and the value of human life etc, but i dont like everything else they believe in, bah. and so right now in the book John Galt is beginning his speech to the country, and his speech is FIFTY PAGES LONG. talk about long winded. gosh, I feel like Rand describes things 10 times over before moving on. All in all, i would say its a good book... i did like the fountainhead MUCH better, and really liked the anthem as well.
Today Palmer gave me a book to read called The Awakening and I almost cried, becuase it was only 116 pages long.
I think i'm gonna read a Russian author next.
Oh and I downloaded a bunch of Jimmy Eat World, and I really like their songs, and a lot of their lyrics too.
Yep. I don't have much else to write about. Sorry. Yesterday, and the day before, and other random days before...today, I had a lot of stuff on my mind, but i'm not really feeling anything right now.
Well anyways, I gotta go study for my econ quiz.
Dang I was all excited when I started writing this, and now I'm just...blah.
