So, the story goes, I've been job hunting. Found a posting on craigslist.com for people to start right away. Thing is, I don't see any business name, requirements, or summary of what the job is. It just says
Receptionist/Customer Service/Management. It looks weird, but I get the feeling I should look into it. Couple of days and two group interviews and today they say I am hired and start training Monday to manage one of 25 offices which they are setting up in the bay area. The company producing the product is
Scentura Creations and the one setting up the offices is B.A.W.D. Inc. which I can find nothing more than a myspace page for.
While writing this, I've been searching online. Between what I've seen of the negative press and what I've been told in the group interviews, it is clear I would be working on a commission only basis. The negative press has everything to do with the street solicitation and door to door sales, but it seems corporate accounts and selling for resale would be covered in training as well. Thing is, I don't know what the generic brand perfume market looks like...
Bah, with so much going to the Internet, these methods seems too archaic. Unless anyone else thinks this seems like a good deal, I think I'll quit tomorrow.
