take this as you will, but i just have to voice my opinion a bit
so lately i couldnt help but realize how many people have started drinking and such. it just doesnt make sense to me. why would you want to drink behind your parents back, at a friends house or even your own, and then have to deal with the repercussions in the morning? why would you put your parents trust on the line like that when you only have one year left in high school? do you really think its worth screwing up the trust you have worked for the last 17 years to earn? just think about if your parents found out, or if ur friends parents found out. what do you think would happen to you? i really dont see the purpose in it either. its not like you're sitting around talking and you just need a drink. its just for the feeling of that little buzz so you can find yourself doing stupid crap and it being caught on camera for the world to see. i cant imagine it would be THAT fun to get drunk with a group of three or four friends, i mean yea, i guess its a safer place to do it than at some party with a bunch of people where you can be taken advantage of or w/e, but still, why not just wait a little bit and then talk to your parents about it, ask them if they would mind if you got to experience it, then at least you wouldnt be betraying your parents who have given up so much to get you to where you are today. what about your future? yea, it may start off with just a little bit now, but what about when you dont have to worry about your parents over your shoulder? at a college party or w/e and everyone is drinking all the time. what will stop you from just going on with it there and it becoming a larger problem?
there are so many things to lose from drinking and so little to gain from it. if you have been able to have fun for the last 17 years of your life without consuming alcohol, why would you have to start now? what changed in the last couple of months? of your friends are boring you, then maybe you need to think about getting some new friends, maybe you have started to go in different directions in life and its time for a change of scenery for everyone.
i just dont get it, i mean, if theres something im missing here, let me know. i would love to hear what you have to say, im always open to hearing other peoples opinions and thoughts on a subject, especially if they are the opposite of mine.
