I GOT IT WORKING :)

Feb 18, 2006 15:37

This may not be a huge break through. But now I have connection to the internet ANYWHERE with 1X service.

Finally, configured and got my crackberry working as a modem for my laptop. Not that I really need to, but it helps to act as a navigation system in the car, or just simply something to do on those long trips.

Which reminds me. I took the GreyHound up last night to Ottawa. Which was the worse experience in my Toronto-Ottawa trips. The second was the 7 hour drive in freezing rain.

I am absolutely against taking the bus as a form of tranist between any cities. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing good about taking the GreyHound.

Issue #1:
It was not cheap. It cost me $72 one-way ticket to Ottawa. It cost me less in terms of gas, insurance and depreciation on MY car not an old junker for the trip up. And it would've cost me about the same in terms of gas for my car, roundtrip.

Issue #2:
The seats are NOT comfortable. It was more comfortable in my 13 year old Nissan in which most of you have seen. Roominess, I'm not complaining, all buses are like that.

Issue #3:
The bus came one and half hour late to pick us up. In a car, I could've left anytime.

Issue #4:
Highly inconvenient. I asked the driver to stop in Kanata, he told me it is going straight to St. Catherines station. (which wasa lie because he stopped in Perth to let a passenger out and at Pine Valley to let another 2 passenger out)

Issue #5:
As quickly as the bus driver could drive. Driving myself is still faster.

The only good thing about taking the bus, is you don't have to deal with the stress of driving. However, I love driving, and all the issues above made it more stressful then relaxing.

Funny thing too, after the mid-stop outside of Tweed. Nearly everybody who had a laptop broke out there laptops for the remainder of the trip. There's a reason for that. If they broke it out in the first leg of the trip, people would know they have a laptop and try stealing it while everybody is off the bus. Hence why I didn't take out mine. But since I saw everybody take their laptops out. I kinda didn't want to after that. Not to mention the stupid bright screens illuminated the bus, which made it hard for me to rest as well.
