I'm finally sitting down to write on my computer and forcing myself to write a proper entry, as best as I can. These past few weeks, with my minimal activity here, I have been simply reading or watching tv though usually my tv time has been as active as my internet time: little to none. Within the time that I have been on hiatus I have finished three books, the third being finished today. (Invader by C.J. Cherryh; the second book in the Foreigner series.) The other two books you may have already figured out by the reviews of each; Karavans and Foreigner.
Yesterday I bought a three pack of the Legend of Drizzt series (IV, V, VI). I already own IV so I gave it to my friend who was with me. The reason I bought the pack was because it was the only place I could find that had volume V. It was irritating. I have been over many bookstores and they completely skip V and VI. It just irks me to no end; so when we (that being my mother, Pam, and myself) went to the Book Loft I was happy to see they even had V, even if it was within a pack. Most of the time I have no complaints about finding Drizzt's books because they keep them in steady supply (even the early ones), but the middle books always seem to be missing-either due to popular demand or because they seem to have a lack-there-of in stock. Barnes & Nobles had tons of Drizzt novels, most of which were doubles of I, II, III, X, XI, XII, XIII. I can find the newer series easily and usually in droves, but the middle numbers V, VI, VII, and sometimes VIII, and IX are harder to find (if at all). The Barnes & Nobles at Easton Shopping Center had all of the numbers (minus VII) but at the time we went (back during spring break) I had been buying volumes III and IV and in no need of the others. That Barnes & Nobles seems to be the only bookstore carrying all of them in heavy supply, but I rarely venture up there so I doubt I'll be getting any more Drizzt novels in a long time.
I also went looking for the next in the series of the Foreigner series since I am loving the series (and I have only read two books from its thirteen count!) but per usual they only had the newest ones, and a few middle ones. I wanted to buy the fourth book mainly from the series as I have the third book in my hands from the library, but well, I can only find the seventh and beyond novels. Maybe when I go to MVNU next Saturday I'll get a chance to run to their small bookstore and see what they have in stock with both Drizzt and Bren Cameron.
Speaking on Mount Vernon, as I stated briefly, I am going back to school on the 1st, and seeing as that is a week and a day away, I'm fairly nervous. I have most of the supplies I need to take to school, minus a few my mother is buying today (and maybe tomorrow) so all I need to do now is pack what I know I will not need until school comes (bed sheets, towels, rags, paper towels, and so on). Clothes, and other supplies shall wait until a day or two before hand so I can plan exactly what I'll be wearing those few days and keep them out. I will also be packing some of my books and movies in boxes. So I'll be throwing mainly books of pleasure I hope to read in the pile, and the few books I bought for school (the others are waiting to be picked up at the school's bookstore). The first novel of the Drizzt series I'm keeping out as well as my library books that are all of the Foreigner series. I have decided to take the third and fourth book up with me so if I have time I can read them. I have decided on this some-what risky venture because I'd really like to continue reading this series, as well as the fact these older books in the series are not checked out often anymore so I could, in theory, have them until I return for Christmas break (however, hopefully by then I have finished the two books).
I know I'm talking mainly about books, but since I couldn't get a job this summer year, I've only done reading, so it is really I have in supply to talk about. I did, however, watch the entire Samurai Champloo series in two days! Good series if not awkward in a few parts.
Bringing the topic back to school, I'm nervous per usual about time restraints for getting homework done efficiently, and the usual I hope I do well argument. I am also going to be working this semester so that is another 5/10 hours I'll be taken away from homework. I usually do not have a social life outside of school, even when I'm not bogged down by schoolwork, but I'll have even less of a social life even amidst being around four other girls in our apartment. Oh, yes, only four now because my closest friend, Pam, is transferring to OSU to do Art Tech I believe. I'm sad that I will not get to see her on a regular basis at school but she said she would visit me at MVNU when she could, and we plan to spend our breaks together if we can. That being said, our apartment is now down to five girls instead of six unless MVNU decides to throw a random girl with us during the school year. I'd prefer not, but it is not my decision honestly. I hope with all the junk I have to bring that I even have room to move around in my room. I have to bring the refrigerator as my roommate is leaving hers behind and I'll be bringing our tv. Plus I have a lamp and a bunch of other bulky crap. Annoying, but necessary. Most everything else should fit in my three bins but who knows-usually by the time I go home I end up having more junk than when I started so it'll probably get crowded in my room...and these are suppose to be smaller rooms than in the dorms. Blahhhhhh. At least I will not be in the dorms though. /Shudders/ Anything than being there-anything. Small rooms or not, this arrangement is much more pleasant than a slightly bigger dorm room. And all of those nasty toilets and showers. And girls that give you the stink eye for daring to look at them. I swear MVNU is filled with preppy snots, and idiotic jocks it is not even funny. I swear I've hit high-class snobs and it makes me upset, because not all rich people are snobs but these people...ugh. I do not even know how to tell you most of these people annoy me. I'm so anti-social and hermit-like that I guess it will not matter in the long run.
