I was just listening to Bright Eyes the other day. (Well, several other days.) He very obviously doesn't like this president and doesn't like this war, and for being such a bright young man, his lyric-writing completely breaks down when he gets on these topics. Things like "If you're still free, you'd better start runnin', 'cause we're coming to get you" (not exact quote) and "The approval rating's high, so someone's gonna die." Come on, does he really believe this? Even if he's just being hyperbolic, it's still retarded.
He's only 22, so I'll give him a few years to mature. But his statements make absolutely no sense outside of Michael Moore's mind.
It just frightens me that so many kids out there are willing to believe the political philosophies (or the pseudo-political rantings) of anyone who can rhyme, and count that more highly than they would a calm discussion of the pros and cons of an administration's foreign policy decisions in light of the situations it has been presented with. I'm not here to try to convince people to like Bush, far from it, I just want the people who hate him to do so for a good reason, and not just because it's impossible to be a part of the music industry and not bash him in some way.
Are you the same person? I guess the birthdays are the same. I saw a comment left under this username in a recent entry of someone else's, and I got here by clicking on it. I didn't look at the dates on the entries. Sorry to have offended.
