Summary: He was the only constant in her life.
The first time they met was one thousand years in the future. It was just a quick glimpse out the window of a little blue man and something she later attributed to her growing sorceress powers. She was still young then and the only ready explanation for the many incidents in her life were her powers. So when she saw a little blue man waving at her through the window she waved back. That night she dreamed she saw a palm tree fly past her window, suspended from the hull of an airship of a strange shape.
The second time they met was one thousand years in the past through the eyes of another girl entirely. Drifting in space where she'd sent her vessel to release the Lunar Cry she found old illusions she'd thought she'd forgotten long ago. Only for a few seconds--not enough, never enough--she saw that strange airship she remembered sailing by, a moai suspended beneath it. Through a window of the ship she glimpsed a small, blue arm waving. And then it was gone and all she had left was the emptiness that drove her to release the sorceress Adel from a primitive lunar prison.
The third time they met was neither in the past or the future, but both and everywhere between. Sitting in her castle, on her throne, beneath a sky that was every sky there had ever been and would ever be was the very last time that they met. She had achieved Time Compression. It had been a long time and yet no time at all to come to this point. A place where only she could live. Where Fate and Destiny could no longer reach her with brittle, strangling claws.
And the little blue man was standing beyond the open doors of her throne room. He waved. She waved back for a final time. Before the SeeDs came she saw him fly through the sky above her head with a chimera suspended beneath his peculiar ship. He was the only constant in her life. He had come to say goodbye.
