Notes: This was a quick write;
1sentence challenge. There are numerous spoilers for the game in here. Most, if not all, of the dialogue, whether paraphrased or not, is taken from the game (though I can't promise it is all verbatim). I am going to say this now: IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED THE GAME AND PLAN TO DO SO AT SOME POINT DO NOT READ THIS. It will spoil the game horrifically for you. I mean it! Aside from that, please do enjoy the snark that I love Prince of Persia so much for.
#01 - Walking
One foot in front of the other across the thin, old beam in the lands of the Ahura and all the while he knows she's right behind him; he makes jokes about her weight cracking the thing and sending them plummeting to hell.
#02 - Waltz
When they use the power plates Elika calls Steps of Ormazd the crazy aerial dance that ensues nearly makes him puke as she draws him through the air.
#03 - Wishes
"The Spire of Dreams," Elika says in that caressing historian voice of hers and for every dream she recounts having here he remembers living it.
#04 - Wonder
When she heals the Vale and sun breaks forth across the green plants and paper-thin butterflies he begins to see why she stayed.
#05 - Worry
"Do you like to make me worry?" She asks, catching him mid-fall; he has to point out that only one of them here can fly.
#06 - Whimsy
"Rest awhile," he says after she heals the land, yet Elika only shakes her head and stands because "there's no time".
#07 - Waste/Wasteland
Elika says it was Ormazd that led him across the desert, made him lose his donkey and fall into the land of the Ahura--he holds that it's just because they were right and he couldn't find his own ass in a sandstorm.
#08 - Whiskey and rum
Elika draws him onto a power plate and the Breath of Ormazd takes him, pushing him ever forward; as he runs hither and thither across the ceiling and up the walls he watches his footing fall away like a drunk in a stupor, powerless and detached until a very familiar hand reaches for his own.
#09 - War
"Wars are all about other peoples causes," he tells Elika when he reveals the circumstances behind his parents death to her, "I want to live for myself."
#10 - Weddings
"Settle down, find a girl, adventuring will kill you," he exclaims as they leap a chasm, her hand drawing his across the gap, "I think my mother was right."
#11 - Birthday
"For you, Elika," he says, letting the lightseed in his hands fly to her.
#12 - Blessing
"In Ormazd's name!" Elika cries and takes his hand--the magic of the power plate sends them soaring over an arch and halfway up the tower.
#13 - Bias
"Hey Ormazd, are you out there?!" He shouts and as he expects there is no answer; he could never believe in gods like she did and perhaps that is why, when it came to her life, he went with the first offer.
#14 - Burning
"Oh good," he exclaims as they watch the Warrior climb back up the tower, "Now he's on fire."
#15 - Breathing
"It's okay," he gasps, clutching his chest as they run along walls and drag themselves up cliffs towards the fertile ground, the Alchemist's Corruption curdling inside him, "I'm only using the pain for effect. I hear it's a great way to get dates."
#16 - Breaking
He spots the Hunter and charges with a primal roar, Elika shouting, "Wait, it's a--," when the Corrupted prince smashes the floor and they both tumble into the tiny room below, "--trap."
#17 - Belief
"People left, the city fell into neglect," she explains of the ruins they work hard to free of Corruption and he can tell unlike her fellow Ahura she never held any doubts as to her duty laid down so long ago by Ormazd.
#18 - Balloon
"What is he doing?" He asks, watching one of the Alchemist's hot air machines lift land high into the air and she explains the Corrupted scholar is breaking up the land, half perplexed--both their thoughts turn with urgency to the fertile ground at the same moment and they break into a run, him leading the way and her only half a step behind.
#19 - Balcony
"Where to next?" Is the question as they search desperately for a way to reach the fertile ground and she points, "Over there, that balcony," not seeming to notice how dangerously close it stands to the oozing Corruption that will kill him, if not her.
#20 - Bane
"I hope that hurt!" He shouts after the retreating Hunter and she shakes her head, "He can't hear you," coming from her in chastisement; "He can't? And you're an ugly mother too! What?"
#20B - Bane
"Are there any gods you haven't angered?" Elika shouts as they run through the crumbling Tower of Ormazd.
#21 - Quiet
"Did you hear something?" He asks as they make their way into the Hunter's territory, but Elika only shakes her head.
#22 - Quirks
"Just be patient. Patience brings rewards," Elika sighs to which he only has to say, "So does walking into a harem covered in chocolate."
#23 - Question
"As simple as that?" She demands as he quickly explains the system of cranks that can help them get to the next fertile ground and that roguish never leaves his face when he tells her, "It is if you trust me."
#24 - Quarrel
"You're a thief," Elika accuses and he protests he's an adventurer; "You're a thief!" she judges still and he raises his voice, "I reclaim abandoned property!"
#24B - Quarrel
"Wanna play a game?" He asks and she stares at him incredulously, "The world's about to end and you want to play a game?"; "Might as well die happy!"
#24C - Quarrel
"I see something and you have to guess what it is," is the proposal and she immediately guesses grass (no), rock (no) before raising her eyes to the heavens, "This is a stupid game."
#24D - Quarrel
"Want another go?" He asks a bit later and she immediately says no before guessing path (no), "This is impossible!"
#25 - Quitting
"Seriously, rest," he says, moving to take her arm, but she pulls away, "When this is over."
#26 - Jump
All the Elikas encircling him are illusions he can't figure out, conjured to punish and drive him mad by the Concubine; he runs to the edge of the tower and leaps--a familiar hand grasps his midair.
#27 - Jester
"Anything else you think you should be telling me?" He asks, pausing for a moment and Elika looks him up and down, "You're an idiot."
#28 - Jousting
Back and forth with the Hunter, block and parry, counter and block, and then Corruption covers the monstruous prince and he shouts for her, "Elika, I need you!"
#29 - Jewel
"Wait, you're offering me a city? What's the catch," he demands because--a city?!--and not just any, but the capital of the Ahura!?!; and yet she seems so serious.
#30 - Just
"Say uh next time you wanna win your daughter back... You could try giving her a pony. The apocalypse doesn't really cut it," he informs Elika's father without knowing all the circumstances; isn't it ironic how he finds himself treading the same footsteps as that man in the end.
#31 - Smirk
Looking up at the turning pillar he loosens his shoulders, "I'll go first. And hey, no staring at my ass. I felt you looking," he orders, something she waves aside with a mocking comment, and yet when he he begins to climb a self-satisfied smile slips over his face, "I feel you looking."
#32 - Sorrow
"It must have been a long battle to take this city," he says, scaling ivy with her on his back and that is how he hears the taught, underpining pain in her voice when she answers, "It fell in hours."
#33 - Stupidity
He can't help, but remark upon the suspicious oddity of a much needed cage in the city square and yet when she says, "Of course. We used it to scare our children. 'Be good or you'll go in the cage and Ahriman will get you!'", he gaps and demands, "For real?"; half an hour later she's still laughing over this.
#34 - Serenade
"You're right, let's get out of here. After all this I'll get you those carpets you wanted," he says after they defeat the Concubine for good--when she demands what carpets he has to shake his head as he realizes the song of the Corrupted mistress's words still ring in his ears.
#35 - Sarcasm
"Aw, I'm really starting to feel all of this in my shoulders... You couldn't give me a backrub, could you?" He asks, hitching his shoulders and she walks right past him, "That's right, I couldn't."
#36 - Sordid
"See? It's almost like he knew we were coming!" He remarks to Elika and the Alchemist curls his fingers invitingly, "Like our destines were entwined?"
#37 - Soliloquy
"If I sold my soul I wonder what I'd get," he ponders at one point to himself, causing her to roll her eyes, and yet as they progress through the Corruption covered ruins of the Ahura city he later mutters, "You know if I sold my soul, I'd want a lot more."
#38 - Sojourn
When Elika asks him if he'll stay he practically splutters, "Hey you're cute, but not stay and fight a dark god cute," and yet...when he does finally leave it's with her in his arms.
#39 - Share
"We did it!" Elika exclaims as they look where the Warrior fell and he cocks his head, "Hey, I did it," he points out to which all he gets is a, "I gave you moral support."
#40 - Solitary
A sigh of annoyance escapes Elika and she continues on towards the next fertile grounds, glibly tossing over her shoulder, "I'm amazed no one threw you overboard on your sea trips."
#41 - Nowhere
As they scale the observatory he can't help, but remark upon the stupidity of locking yourself away and staring at the stars, something she disputes saying, "The stars tells us the time, the seasons, guide us over the deserts and seas,"; he has to point out how useful that is when you don't go anywhere.
#42 - Neutral
At first she worries that he's only helping because of the way he glances at her, but when she brings it up he claims he only 'does stupid things for himself'.
#43 - Nuance
"One day I won't be here to catch you," she says once when she saves him from a fall--later on he wishes he heard the meaning in her tone.
#44 - Near
"Stay close," he murmurs as they walk through the blackgate to the final bastion of the Hunter; the last thing he wants is for them to get separated.
#45 - Natural
He was always lucky, oh-so-lucky--later on when he looked at her slack face he cursed himself for assuming it'd all turn out okay.
#46 - Horizon
From the top of the temple stairs they look out across the land and see the glow of the healed grounds; only one more to go before this is all over and then he can show her the world.
#47 - Valiant
Running along the temple walls while nearly being squished by the giant fist of Ahriman and she still has the voice to cry, "The light will never fade!"; he feels like he might just shit his pants himself.
#48 - Virtuous
"I'm sorry," she says and extends her hand to the wisdom tree, the last fertile ground to be healed--he catches her as she falls lifeless in the glow of the restored tree.
#49 - Victory
He lays her on the altar as he'd seen her father do before at the start of all this in their visions, Ahriman's voice whispering in his mind; if this is triumph he doesn't think he can handle it.
#50 - Defeat
As he walks out into the desert with Elika in his arms the Corruption springs up into a sandstorm behind him and overtakes them; he chose her.
