Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
He is so tiny. Thin, but no longer dangerously so, as he was when he first arrived in Elegy; short short small small, the size of perhaps a six year old.
2. How old is he?
He turned fourteen shortly after landing in the city. Is fourteen in canon, now.
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
Often, he's straight-backed, even if his shoulders tend to pinch upward. He usually carries himself as though he's trying to appear smaller. He makes sure to bow politely, though.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
He isn't very in-shape because he doesn't move around all that much, let alone run. If exposed to things, it'd be easy for him to get sick, but he doesn't leave much. Long-term medical conditions aren't there, though; he's just very frail because he isn't used to very much.
Post canon update, he's even more frail, having been released from the hospital only a couple of weeks ago and recovering from a slit throat. He grows faint easily if he overexerts himself.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Ah, truthfully, he can be a little awkward, a little clumsy. Taut, sometimes, and he often seems to be anxious, which can hinder his movements.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
He's a pretty child. When disheveled, it isn't nearly as apparent, but Sora's got such pretty blue eyes, and very long eyelashes, and a sweet face and sweet hands. He wouldn't know it, though; he hates looking at himself, and couldn't consider himself cute, even if he is.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
He's quite pale, especially for a child of Asian heritage. It can get dark, easily, underneath his eyes, and he's got some scars here and there on his arms and legs, but otherwise he's smooth baby skin.
--More canon update things. Now he's even paler, a little purple underneath his eyes at times, maybe a little greyish in complexion. There's a very long scar down the right side of his neck.
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
Black hair, very dark. It isn't coarse - sort of toddler fine, really - but it hasn't been properly taken care of with conditioners or anything. Before, its style was actually quite neat, for what it was; a clinical cut, angled just so that it wouldn't hang in his face. Short short short. It's been growing, though. He might request a haircut soon.
9. What color are his eyes?
Blue! Described as very clear and very calm. Harmless eyes, if that makes sense.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
Androgyny. Most people assume he's a boy right off, but lord he looks as though he could go either way. Also he tends to 'look like he's cold.'
11. What are his chief tension centers?
His shoulders, his arms and hands. His chin, too, if he's working his mouth in distress.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
He will wear basically anything. He's used to hand-me-downs -- too-large shirts and baggy pants -- but he's been outfitted, by now, with things that fit better. He doesn't like to voice color preferences, or style preferences. Secretly, he sort of wants something just a little frilly, and maybe white or light blue. (Alternatively, to emulate Lenalee, or Prussia.)
After rearriving in Elegy, he refuses to wear anything that isn't a turtleneck, doesn't have a very high collar, or doesn't come with a scarf. Also, new color preferences: blacks, browns, and beige tones.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
He does like it when clothes are a bit looser; that does make him more comfortable.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
All time is free time! Baby doesn't have a job, or really any dutiful scenarios that take place.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
I........I DON'T KNOW. *covers face*
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
A little airy. Somewhat feminine, but in a passable 'this is a little boy who hasn't hit puberty' way. Could go either way, really. If he speaks for too long he gets hoarse simply because he isn't used to saying much for a long stretch of time.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
Softly, for sure! He tends to choose his words carefully - or he tries to, at least - and it definitely shows. He often sounds very subdued, too.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
None to speak of, really! Though, when he's very upset or doesn't know how to articulate himself/what to say, he'll simply become repetitive.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
Japanese; mostly fluent, it's his native tongue. The same with English, in Elegy, because of translation convention. German, however, he's been learning properly, and he's grown skilled with it, though he isn't yet fluent by any means.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
If he's too distressed, he'll drop German.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
He definitely needs to think. Furthermore, he wants to think about his words before saying them. If he's put on the spot he'll fumble.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
He swings between a surprising level of eloquence and a level or inarticulacy that suits his childlike appearance. It can be easy to tell that he's intelligent by the way he speaks; at the same time, he can be very awkward, and doesn't always know how to express himself, or even whether he should. Eloquence is, however, very easily lost, when he's too upset or confused.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
He has got such a large amount of raw intelligence; his potential to shine brilliantly is huge. This is a fourteen year old child who is a self-taught lover of mathematics, learning from books he read to himself and homework notes he was given and then deciphered on his own. This is the little one who does calculus to soothe himself, who has mental math listed as a particular special skill of his. He knows very little about the world, but it wouldn't be difficult to shape him into a little genius.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
He thinks on his feet when numbers are involved. Everything else requires loads of hesitation.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
With math: 'complete logic'
With people in general: 'i don't know them → i am myself → i shouldn't be a nuisance → i'm sorry'
With himself: 'be careful → don't be too selfish in your caution → you're thinking about yourself too much → don't know what else to think about → math'
So, he swings between great logic and completely unreasonable conclusions (especially surrounding himself).
4. What kind of education has the character had?
Self-taught, as far as most things go. Prussia, however, and I suspect Alfons as well, have helped him with German, though.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Haha, his only real area of expertise is mathematics.
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Such an introvert. He hasn't any idea how to go about being an extrovert, nor does he want to.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Not quite melancholy, on a regular basis, but it certainly seeps in from time to time. He's a very serious child; he's also called calm, serene, those sorts of things. When he's delighted, it's the subdued sort. Mellow, too; he doesn't really laugh. He doesn't grow angry, and he isn't the type to hide his tears.
Following his rearrival at Elegy, he's a little more likely to grow irritable, but it isn't very prominent.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Incredibly timid. Guilty, too, somehow, like he's ready to take the blame for any and everything. He wants to stay out of sight, out of mind.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
React, definitely. He doesn't feel he's got the right to really act.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Flight. Sora, at this point in time, couldn't fight for the life of him.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
You know, he hasn't got much of one. I am honestly having a hard time thinking of jokes he'd laugh at. In that area, he's a little dense.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, at least, for certain. He copes by working with numbers, by tucking himself away. By forcing gratitude out of himself. By going mute, if necessary.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
His first comprehension of his family's hatred. His moments with Tsukasa. Meeting Lenalee; being told he's loved by Lenalee; approval from Gilbert; awkward hug from Gilbert. Solving his first equation. The earliest vivid memory he has of attending church. His father's attempt on his life.
14. What does he fear?
Father; Father's family; people; himself. He fears angering people, too. Loud noises, forceful movements. Death, but not his own. If he met a pregnant woman, he would be positively terrified of her. Sharp objects; he can panic at the sight of a kitchen knife.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
To be a good child. To disappear.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
Everything bad. (Gender. Birth circumstances.)
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
His mother is dead. His father's resentment for a baby he considered to be a murderer has risen to hatred over the years.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
It's implied that Sora has older siblings. He doesn't talk about them; they didn't talk with him. Tsukasa, his half- or step-brother, is someone Sora admires. Tsukasa is kindhearted. Sora will not forget that.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
He's estranged from his family, kept nearby only because they don't know what else to do with him.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Lenalee, Lenalee. He loves her above all else. Gilbert, though Sora isn't sure whether he's like a father or a much older brother or something completely different. Alfons, in a shy way, and Olivia is an aunt-like woman whom he adores as well.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Sora doesn't consider himself to have friends, to it's a difficult question to answer. Lenalee is his closest relationship, though.
6. Does he have other close friends?
Aside from those listed under family, Sora's grown attached to and amazed by one Doctor Gregory House, oddly enough. It's a strange relationship. There's a slew of others that Sora enjoys talking with yet feels sheepish around.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
People love him easily, it seems; he doesn't have trouble getting along with them, but he does have trouble interacting with/understanding them.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
He doesn't know how to classify what.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Definitely single! He's only fourteen, and completely clueless, after all. Hasn't much of an idea about any of that.
10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Nnnno.
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
He doesn't even know what crushes are, or how to identify them. This is best left alone for the moment.
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
He has no idea.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
Nnnno.
14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
No, he wouldn't consider anyone either of those.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the
Kinsey scale?
Kinsey scale is actually not applicable to him, all things considering.
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
He knows so, so little about it.
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
N- Not applicable.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (
zodiac of
choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
Capricorn! He has the potential to fit it, and when he's older, it does suit him somewhat more, but right now it's off the mark.
Monkey! Not at all, really.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
He believes in God, in Heaven and Hell and Purgatory (which he believes he'll end up in), but he doesn't pray or seek guidance.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
His morals are: Be good. A word from Lenalee could compromise it instantly; persuasion from Gilbert, and possibly House, could as well.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Somewhat curious, and incredibly tolerant. He likes to learn and hates to discriminate.
5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
No prejudices, but stronger an unease around men than women. Men are more imposing, to him.

He doesn't handle finances! But he's well taken care of. Comfortable.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
His social status has gone from 'nonexistent' to 'on the outskirts of things.'
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
Apartment flat place - the Prussian household, shared with, of course, Prussia, Lenalee, Alfons Heiderich, and occasionally others.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
