NP: Insane Clown Posse - Pendulum's Promise

Art post, 'cos I said I would at some point. And I feel like it, damn it.

First, a new icon for Leandros, showing him in full Hunter-Killer mode.

In reverse order:

So, your final picture is a small red x.

Your second picture, the sketch of Justice, is interesting. The results of your sketching style are fun to see, and I like the sketches you've posted over the years I've read your journal. Now since you asked for critique: I like the body quite a bit. I think the outer shoulder possibly juts out too much, but it actually looks right for the picture, so it's not really a problem. The head... I know what you mean when you say you hate to erase and go back into something like that. I also see why you aren't 100% happy with it, but I don't think it's size. I think it's less a problem of the head being too small as it is the neck being too large, or perhaps the jawline not extending quite far enough back... as though it's more positioning than size. I want to say the eyes are too far up the skull, but if they are, it's just a little. They look off center, but when I measured with my fingers, they seemed to be in the right place. It might be the hairline, but once again, I am not sure. Yeah, real helpful, I'm sure.

The icon for Leandros: This rocks. I really like the style and the colors you have going on. I only wish my monitor weren't fucked up, because it displays everything a few shades darker than they actually are. If you're in the mood to get all fiddly on this, and work on it some more, I would suggest a bit more defined shading on the cheekbones area. It's not a biggie, though. This is definitely coolness.

Yeah, I forgot that image host has a daily bandwidth host. I need to find a new place to put it. *grumble* Try later.

Hee, you spelt it Justice. You know I didn't even notice that connection until LONG after I first started writing him? It's another form of the name 'Justin'. To reply to your critique... It looks right on him simply because that's pretty much how Justis is built. He's not remarkably tall (six feet) but he's one of those people that's naturally built about right, and he works hard, both on the job and to keep in shape for said job (he's an Auror). That's also why his neck is drawn rather thick... he's not one of those totally bull-necked dudes but he's not exactly pencilnecked either. And you're right about his eyes being slightly too high; if his facial structure were slightly different, they'd be fine, but he's of Danish stock so he's got those broad, sharp Germanic/Scandinavian type cheekbones, which therefore places his eyesockets somewhat lower than where I've drawn his eyes.

I probably should define his cheekbones a bit more, yeah, and his jawline as well -- he's Justis's son, and he inherited his father's stronger facial features. He's got his dad's hair too, but, amusingly, in most other ways he takes after his mother. And hence, is Very Short. (I should do a picture of Justis and Athena sometime... he's not a small dude but she makes him look like a giant by comparison.)

Also, you are, indeed, helpful, and I appreciate your taking the time to contribute. :) When you get to see the third image, I hope to hear your insight on it, too, if you feel like it.
