"And you as well, Miss. What should I call you?" Joan smiles, and hopes she's not encountering another version of God with a mission for her.

"I have a preference to Varda. It is what I usually am called at home." Smiles in return.

"Varda it is then. And a pleasure to meet you." Joan grins. "Where is home, if I may ask?"

Home... A place called Valinor. It's... kind-of like "heaven" in Earth beliefs.

Joan nods. "I had a feeling you were...different. Other worldly." She pushes a hand through her hair, hoping her words do not come across as offensive. "I mean that to be a compliment. I don't even know why I felt it, I just kind of did."

"Well then, you have a good sense for the mystical, Joan, though I admit that I do not try to hide my nature too hard." In some curiousity she goes on to ask; "How many other divine beings have you run into around here?

Joan regaurds her for a moment, decides she is the real thing and smiles.

"I spoke to Jesus briefly, a few angels, gods, prohets and even an antichrist. Not sure how divine some of them are, but most are not of the earth in any case. There's also The Unicorn, who may not be divine, but she is magical and beautiful..."

Nods thoughtfully.

"I truly haven't talked with as many myself but then I have had some... problems and have been staying more in Middle-earth since then..." Trails off, not wanting to get too much into the subject of past problems. "But still, it is good to meet new people."

"I agree," Joan nods. "Definitely. I like you already."

Varda smiles brightly, "For that I am glad."

"Me too." Joan smiles. "I'm not so good at making friends. A lot of people think I'm a bit...odd." She shrugs, figuring she may as well tell Varda the truth about herself. "I talk to God. Or, God talks to me. He chose me. I don't know why. He just appeared one day. He appears to me as people, but always different. SOmetimes he's a really cute guy, or a goth, or a cafeteria lady. Once he was a dog walker who looked really familiar, like a teacher I had once. I never know where He's going to show up, but when he does, he asks me to do something crazy, like try out for cheerleading or take piano lessons, join the debate club or work for the school newspaper. He never tells me what I'm really doing, but I always end up helping someone somehow and it's really cool. But I still don't know why He chose me, and I'm talking way too much, aren't I?"

Varda shakes her head, "No, you're not talking too much, it's interesting to here about your involvement with Him."

"I don't want to bore you..." Joan pushes a hand through her hair. "It's frustrating sometimes, but I've met some really wonderful people because of it. I don't mind it so much as I used to. I used to lay around and wonder why me? Like it was some kind of curse. I don't know. He's so vague, but...but I guess I've gotten used to it."

"From what I have heard of Him, I doubt he intends it as a curse though it is not too odd for people given divine missons to wonder why they have been chosen."
