There is not much jubilation in India - media or among politicians - over this great feat. My opinion is that Amartya Sen's Nobel Prize announcement a few years ago received much more publicity and coverage in India.
Anyway, metaphorically, the achievers themselves are beyond these ephemeral ripples of public attention...
