Quick Skincare Reviews and update

I need a better way to archive my reviews. Perhaps I should also look into another blogging tool as LJ sometimes doesn't cut it. We'll see. I'm the only person who reads these anyway.

Olay Moisturizing Lotion - Sensitive Skin

It moisturises. It doesn't irritate. At around $9 for 177 mL (6 fl. oz.) at Walmart, what more can one ask for? Well, I personally could do with a slight bit more hydration and I'll probably need something slightly more moisturising during the dry winter months. It hasn't made the oily parts of my face more oily than usual. Scent is barely noticeable. So far, it's been a good, basic facial lotion. Though there appears to be a repackaged version that has less product for almost the same price? Hmm.

Now Solutions Vitamin C & Acai Berry Purifying Toner

Doesn't appear to irritate my skin but doesn't seem to do much besides catching stray makeup/dirt my cleanser missed. Smells like those citrus "cocktail" juices made from concentrate. I did not notice any brightening effects despite the claims that this toner brightens. This sells for CAD 12.79 for 237 mL (8 fl. oz.) at Well.ca.

Green Cricket 100% Natural Hand and Body Lotion

It works? Barely has a scent, if you're looking for that sort of thing. Spreads easily and absorbs pretty quickly. Bought it from Well.ca at CAD 14.99 for 500 mL. I may need something heavier for winter but right now, it's doing fine.

First Impressions: Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Face Cream

I got this as a sample and judging from the price, I likely won't actually purchase it. So far, it seems okay. Doesn't have much of a scent. Still couldn't quite fully moisturise around my nose, which has been flaky and dry as of late; then again, it's marketed as a lightweight moisturiser. It's apparently supposed to even skintone. We'll see.

First Impressions: Escada Born in Paradise eau de toilette

Yeah, yeah, it ain't skincare. Whatever. Reminds me of generic, alcoholic cocktails using sweet tropical fruits. I don't mind using up this sample but there's not much there to tempt me into actually purchasing it.

Skin update: I managed to reincorporate 5% benzoyl peroxide lotion back into my skincare regime. I used a tiny amount on a small section every other day until I no longer got an irritated skin reaction, slowly increased the amount and area, then finally got to using it every evening. My acne is improving, though slowly. I'm still afraid to use it anywhere else besides my forehead.
