The less time til the elections - the more fear shown by the government

Nov 29, 2011 21:34

I have already written about over 30 000 of young people (can hardly call them people though) who support Putin and his party, that are planned to be brought to Moscow for the period of elections. Not only they will not let anyone else have their meeting and protests on the streets of Russia's capital, but without a doubt will be used to vote more than once in different election station of the city.

Short comment to clear up the situation - if a Russian citizen can't attend voting station in the district where he/she lives, he/she needs to go there 45 or less day before the elections to receive some special documents (google translate suggests "absentee certificate"), which will be used in any other station - exchanged to a ballot. But this system is abused by cheaters for "United Russia", people with those certificates gather in groups and go to vote where they manage to keep all the certificates. Which means they can go to other stations to vote again! (Just now found info that yesterday 560 of such certificates were "lost' in St.Petersburg. More than sure it's not the only case of this kind. You see how important those papers are for "United Russia"
followers)

So in a way all this arrangement with "Putinjugend" is not only for protection against any protests, but also a desperate
attempt to get some extra votes. The ruling party realizes that they can't rely on real people's choice. Even though the government TV channels try so hard to show "statistics" of public opinion, where guess who is in the lead?

Talking about how legal the appearance of all this youth is not even needed... Any agitation in the day of elections by Russian law is violation. All posters, TV-debates and etc etc have to be gone by that date. But apparently law is not for "United Russia", http://www.newsland.ru/news/detail/id/833223/ 15 000 of their brainwashed crowd are going to show up in the very center of Moscow - Manezh Square. They will also have talks to Moscovites about how quality of their lives has improved in the years of Medveputin. Legal, huh?

All these actions only show how little support they know they have in Moscow...
And that they are getting extremely scared...

51 500 policemen and military forces are going to be gathered in Moscow for those days too.

Metal detectors in election stations, police dogs, starting 1st of December police will be on high alert service.

Why so different from any other previous elections?
Who are they so scared of?
Do they really expect that people accept such attitude? In these desperate tries they only arouse more resentment.
