all i ever wanted was the world

First things first on my list of things to update all of you about today: the dream I had last night. It was literally the best. Not only was it a "meet your favorite celebrity" dream--it was a "meet your favorite celebrity" dream on crack.

I was at some combination of my friend's house, a bar in Newport Beach, and a swimming pool at a place I've stayed with my dad in South Carolina. I just remember my friends being over and suddenly someone telling me that Dom Howard (the drummer from Muse) was out swimming in the pool. And I had to go say hi to him, obviously, so I started to walk through the dining room where Andrew Scott, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Steven Moffat, and Benedict Cumberbatch were all sitting and browsing the internet on someone's computer. The best part is, when I actually went outside, I saw Slash handing out fliers for his band (which was apparently not Guns N Roses for some odd reason), and Johnny Depp playing with Robert Downey Junior's son (while RDJ watched on) over dinner.

I don't understand how I get these dreams. But I want more of them. I want them all the time.

I thought I'd ramble on about that under a cut, though.

For those who aren't in the loop, I'm taking a Digital Illustration class at the local community college to gain some extra graphic design experience. The class I'm taking is one that a second semester major would be taking (and I'm in my fifth), but most of the students are only in their second semester on the computer, which is about where I am. So that was reassuring.

We mostly piddled around with Illustrator and the pen tool today, mostly so the professor could gauge where everyone was as far as program experience. So we basically spent the nearly five hour session tracing designs that the professor gave us. At the end, however, he gave us our first project. We have to draw a creature/animal on one artboard and a bunch of that same creature/animal on another artboard. I was thinking about doing spiders (because Black Widow spider...after Black Widow...Avengers...get it?) but then I thought corgis.

And then I drew this:

So yes, I'm doing corgis. I'm excited. And since the project is due on Thursday, you lot will probably see the final product before the weekend.

And then I went to Zumba class with my mom. And that was a blast, even though we got there 20 minutes late because my mom got home late. Fun day, all in all, even if my class was obscenely long (and I get to put up with it four days a week for the next month--kill me now).

summer, infamous dream stories, summer school
