Man v. Machine
erron3000 is to blame for bringing the Man v. Machine discussion up again in the context of A.I. I 'luv it when you guys bring up this stuff! This round drove me to a terse conclusion about self-awareness:
Having one instance of a lack of awareness about some self meets my universal standard for lacking total awareness, aka. it's silly to talk about the importance of A.I. self-awareness because if the machine is only aware of itself, then it wouldn't give a damn about our conclusions; i.e. we wouldn't exist.
