Mom update
Good news, good news indeed. The tubes have been removed from her throat, she can speak, and is doing much better. I haven't had a chance to speak with her myself, but my sister reports that she seems to be doing well. Thank gods for medical miracles....well, stuff that would have been miraculous a century ago.
On the car front, I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do. One of my coworkers has a '04 Cavalier he's looking to sell, for about $4200. Not sure I want to buy it, but it's an option. My debt consolidation people say that there is a remote chance that an auto-loan could cause a problem - most credit card companies understand the concept of "no car, no payment" pretty well. So, we'll see. I think that regardless, I'm going to wait til next week before I seriously think about what I want in a vehicle.
