as if my nervous system was not exhausted enough already, I decided to watch "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me" on IFC tonight. it's probably the third time I've seen that one. for those of you not familiar with this morbid masterpiece in all its versions: "Fire Walk with Me" is a certain prequel to the Twin Peaks series; it's way more intense and bloody; it's a key, or perhaps a lock to which the key is to be inserted, to the whole "Who Killed Laura Palmer?" mystery.
Every time I watch Twin Peaks I see it from a completely different angle. When I was a teenager, this Lynch's epic nightmare made me afraid of approaching mirrors, dark rooms, and red velvety fabrics. These days I see more of an incest narrative that is not as prominent in the series as it is in "Fire Walk With Me". More so, it is Lynch's brilliant penetration of a serial killer's mind. As well as the killer's victims. Who are also victims of incestuous abuse. I'm yet to crack the mystery of evanescent FBI agents though. any ideas?
