Had a very chaotic weekend... yesterday was my birthday. When I invited people I thought I was celebrating it on saturdays, but at some point in time I thought it would be sundays followed by a shift back to saturdays for people who couldn't make sundays and came saturdays and....
So eventually I had no clue anymore when who came, if anyone at all.
Since I also forgot to invite some people...
Well... to make a short story long, everytime the doorbell rang this weekend it was a surprise to see people (or not). Oh and we did a Matrix marathon yesterdaynight... much fun! Half got me the Matrix on DVD (we only had it on video) and we kinda watched it, followed by Reload and since we had time by Revolutions.
She also got me George Duby's 'De drie orden. Het zelfbeeld van de feodale maatschappij 1025 - 1225' which is very cool. My grandpa came along with the full version of Jeff Wayne's 'War of the Worlds' rockopera! Go grandpa! And my parents brought Dicken's Christmas Carol illustrated by Anthon Pieck :)
So no time for WoW since I still had a ton of work on my paper which is due friday. I am writing about the relationship between the Dutch Reformed Church and the West India Company in the dutch colonies in America (1624-1664). Especially the influence of preachers and deacons in Beverwijck and Rensselaerswijck which are currently known as Albany in the state of New York (which was of course New Amsterdam). Dutch politics to religion at that time are very similar to our current politics towards drugs... it is not allowed but we don't make a big fuss about it either.
