Sweet & Sour Oranges

Yesterday after my lunch, my mum had cut some fruits. She bit into the orange and commented it was sour. So I was asking her how to differentiate the sour oranges from the sweet ones. She gave me an answer but I'm not convinced

i can't contribute because i never bought oranges and my mum never asked me to buy oranges (it's not one of those fruits we'll buy!).

am interested to know though!

My mum said to look at the navel of the orange. If its wide and deep its more sweet than those with just a small dimple.
