My mom took me to Church at about 6:00 last night, dropped me off at the Hall. She and I took my bags and pillow and stuff inside, and I met Rudy (youth minister) inside, and Lori and Sean were upstairs. So I hung out with them for a while too. My mom went back home, and Sean and I played Dragonball Z Budokai for a while, then started to play Budokai 2, but stopped and drove to Blockbuster to buy Budokai 3 - which is an awesome game. (I definately recommend it to DBZ fans, but watch out for Kid Buu - crazy!!!) Rudy ordered Little Caesar's pizza, and we ate, then Lori, Rudy, and Rudy's girlfriend Andrea went upstairs to watch a cheap, $20 budget, 1970's horror flick. I walked in near the end and sat next to Lori, and protected her from all the asylum escapees with gardening tools, who were killing people inside a mansion. (Pretty creepy).
Midnight rolled around and we went to Adoration! Awesome! Father Matthew said a special prayer for young people discerning religious life (I get the feeling it was said specially for Sean and I) and then for Paul, who is in his last year in the Seminary, and who is a great friend of Fr. Matt's. After the service, I went into the sacristy to have a few words with Fr. Matt and Paul - my good friends.
I ran back to the Hall and proceeded to continue playing DBZ Budokai 3 for a while, and we got way into it, must have been the caffeine. But when we could finally save it, we did. Then we played Nightmare, a video board game (we play on a board game and there's a host on the video) from the late '90s. SO funny... it's supposed to be scary, and at times it shocked you a little, but the "host" of the game, called "The Gatekeeper" kept trying to scare us with growling noises and stuff, and it was so funny. He did freak us out a little.
Following this game... another board game. A DVD board game, about movie trivia - called "Scene It?" and THEN... more Budokai 3. I guess we played WAY too much. rofl - we finished Nightmare at like 1:00, then played DBZ until 7:30 AM!! I turned around and saw sunlight coming through the window, and realized we'd all turned into zombies. So we went to bed and got to sleep for 2 hours, then were woken up for pancakes. I also was given the task of waking up Lori. Finally, Darren and I went outside to wait for my ride, and we played hacky sack (sp?) and Fr. Jim came and gave us little mini finger-Rosaries. Very cool. So I had a great New Years!
