So lately I've been communicating with Fr. Gerry Horan, a religious priest of the "Order of Friar Servants of Mary" (Servites). He is helping me in my discernment process, as I continue to think over the possibilities, costs, advantages, etc., of becoming a priest. I have already talked with Fr. Matt, and he suggested a college, some classes, and named a few possible seminaries. Fr. Gerry meanwhile, asked me if he could forward my message to Monsignor Davis, who is the Vocation Director for the Diocese of Orange. So now I'm waiting to hear from him, and we will further discuss a vocation, how I would go about further discernment, and what I will need to do.

I'd like to become a Diocesan priest in the Diocese of Orange, which I've been told, I can do. I cannot however choose the parish I'd like to be assigned to. However, Fr. Gerry has told me that once in a while, a priest is assigned to his home parish. I'll pray for that if I make it to the seminary.

I'm also praying for Lori's "brother," and a good friend of mine, Sean Thomas, who thinks that he would like to become a Deacon. So before he starts college on the 17th, I've been talking with him, and it seems that he's leaning towards that choice of occupation more and more. Fr. Matt is trying to convince him that he should become a priest instead, lol, he says, "That's where it gets big!" So - please pray for not only me and Sean, but everybody in general, who is considering a vocation. I realized recently how badly our Church (as a whole) is in need of priests, brothers, and sisters especially. Thanks everybody!

Now... I need some water - I'm thirsty. =P

Pax Christi,
Shane
