We are the True North, Strong and Free - 2010 Olympics!

Perhaps one of the things I was sad to miss this weekend was the 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremonies taking place in my brother's home town of Vancouver, BC. I proudly wore my Canada 2010 Olympic mittens yesterday packing my car to leave Madrigal and woke up this morning made a pot of tea and sat down to watch....and am just astounded at the beauty of what I've seen. I am truly proud to be a Canadian at this moment when my country is on the world stage. I have been moved to tears at many of the things I've seen and I highly recommend watching it if you haven't seen it. There are so many magical moments but I'll leave you with the poem  "We Are More"  that I thought was a truly defining moment probably only second to the great 99 Wayne Gretzky carry the torch through the streets of Vancouver trailed by people spontaneously joining the last leg of the torch run to the outdoor cauldron in the heart of the city.  This ceremony was truly a celebration of both the Canadian and Olympic spirit.
