Problemos. I was a bit worn out after the Halloween party on Friday, but I managed to cut and sew a sleeve on the dummy. Only to find that the hole for the sleeve way too big and too low. Jo doesn’t like clothes that are too tight around his armpit (the way that mediaeval clothes should be, since they are much more fitted to the wearer and should fit like a glove) so we put it where he thought it was comfy, resulting in a sleeve that was just floppy and too fabric-y and looked all twisted (pun intended), and now I’ll have to go back and change both the upper torso patterns, front and back, and then the sleeve pattern...
Joy. Maybe making a brand new pattern for the first time with a tight deadline wasn’t such a good idea… :)
Am a little tired today too, after yesterdays Halloween party, but I’ve started to adjust the pattern (again) and I’ll try to tape some fabric to the dummy to simulate the changes. I really want this to look good, so this seems too important to not do the dummy thing and just go ahead with the real costume. I’m a bit behind schedule now, but that’s life.
This time I’m bloody well gonna make it right!
