Gettin' paid

Aug 07, 2013 19:05

Soooooo it turns out that my school district will let me count my time in Japan towards my years of experience. Why is this important? MONEY! Because we get paid based on how many years experience we have. If I can get this form filled out and verified I could get a $3,000 bump in pay for next year. Two other former Tahara ALTs who work in my district have successfully gotten this pushed through so it's just a formality.

HOWEVER...

the ALT supervisor that was there when I was no longer works at City Hall. I emailed one of the girls there now (who I met on vacation last spring in Japan) for the new person's name. Got it. Emailed him. Aaaaand nothing.

I can't be messing around. So instead of giving this guy another chance. I just emailed his boss's boss. Yeah. Sorry about that dude. But this is about mah paycheck. And I'm not Japanese. I'm American. So I'm going to be pushy about it. Also, fingers crossed, the guy I emailed today, Mr. Hanai, speaks perfect English and really liked me. He even wrote me a recommendation letter before I left Japan. I figure he's more likely to return my email than some guy who's never heard of me.

In other news...

I have a room!!!

And my best friend from Tahara, the lovely Marie, is coming to visit me in KY!

School starts next week while she's here. That combined with the fact that I have to have my room (my lovely lovely room) ready and I'm stressed! But excited! Stressed and excited!

And if nothing else-I will give this experience form to her and have her hunt down someone in the Board of Education when she returns.

That's me...how are you lot?
