It's been a long time coming...

So it's definitely been quite a while since my last update and so much has happened. I'd like to extend my apologies to any person in an event I may forget, it's nothing personal.

The Cal Cruisers, unfortunately, did not qualify in Clovis, CA. This was devastating but left us still one more chance in Hillsboro, Oregon. So all of us girls and most of our parents packed our bags and headed north. This tournament was double eliminatin as well, and thus we played our first game and won. Good start. We then lost our second game to Valley Breeze, a team that would later come back to haunt us. We then won 4 straight games, all of which were incredibly tough games. We then lost our qualifying game, but then because of the way in which the tournament was set up, we had one more shot. We had to beat Valley Breeze. We held the game to 0-0 until the bottom of the 7th, whereupon a homerun was given up and we lost the game 2-0. I have never been so deeply saddened. We girls just sat in left field and bawled our eyes out. Every single one of us. We have never been closer as a team than as we were this last weekend and we deserved that qualification more than Breeze for numerous reasons. As Jamie said in Clovis, "Why do bad things happen to good people?" I find myself constantly asking myself that same question. Sure, things happen for a reason...I hope those reasons manifest themselves, for if they dont, I don't know where to turn...

With the most current softball news out of the way, we turn to the social scene. Nick and I had a great time on the 4th of July. We found a huge box in the Best Buy parking lot and delivered it to Lior's place out in West LA. That was a ton of fun. We thought we'd make it back to San Marino in time to see the firework show. Well, we did...sorta. We watched most of the show from the car trying to find parking, and after we did find parking we watched the huge finale while walking down the hill to the park. It was still so much fun riding with Nick in the car while the firework show (war) was going on. Such a great time. I'm really glad Nick and I have become closer over these last few weeks. I really enjoy his company and he's an amazing friend to have. :)

Wednesday, the day before I left for Oregon, Bryant and I made our way out to Warped Tour down in Ventura. All I have to question about this day is why the best bands that were there were on the side stages and the shit bands were on the main stages. Bands like 18 Visions, the Bled, Underoath, Rise Against were cast aside while no name bands and crappy bands like The Sounds and Atmosphere (who?) were on the main stages. Bah, just angers me. But anyway, Bryant and I had such a great time there. We met the guys in My Chemical Romance, which was just surreal. So much fun. We also met up with some of his friends (Dani and Cassie) who were really nice and a lot of fun, and ran into Nick, Scoot, and Matt, who had snuck in 1500 Section 8 cds for distribution. Good job guys.

I've missed/am going to be missing a lot of people in this next little bit of time. Meredith's going to camp for three weeks in New York, which saddens me. I'll miss you, Mee. Bryant is leaving for Florida for two weeks, I'll miss him terribly as well. And I've also missed Robert, who just returned from Hawaii recently. We've only actually hung out once but for some reason I feel like he and I have known each other for a long time. Maybe that's just me. :/

But anyway, yeah. That's it for now.

Much love to everyone.

P.S.-I also got my 18 Visions cd signed :)

P.P.S.-I think we might be going to Oklahoma for one last chance at qualifying. That'll be a bitch, but so worth it if it's worth it. Get it? I knew you would...

And one last thought...

As rain falls in drops I drop my head
I'm ashamed and tempted to say
My heart has caught up to me
but still these words, hold my hand
Please stay a while longer
I don't want to be alone
To see in your eyes is to stare in clear skies.
Clouds don't trail me anymore
