Urmila on my mind!

The epics are to teach Dharma, the way of life to everyone. Every chapter, every sentence, every word in it teaches only the right path at any situation.

Recently I read the most pious, sacred Ramayana we all Indians worship. When I was reading and done with reading had couple of thoughts on my mind. I didn’t get a satisfactory answer to these from anyone I spoke to. Here I put across one of these thoughts with a hope that you may give me a satisfactory comment.

When Rama decided for exile, Sita being his wife was allowed to follow her Dharma of living with her husband even in exile. Lakshamana an inseparable brother of Rama followed them to provide his service. We all know this story.

In the context of glorifying Rama-Lakshamana the incarnation of Vishnu, Sita incarnation of Lakshmi; Ramayana doesn’t spell a word about the sacrifice of Urmila. You would be wondering who is Urmila when the talk is about Ramayana!
Urmila is the wife of Lakshamana.

Sita pestered Rama to let her accompany Rama in exile; she was allowed to do so. At the same time Urmila too would have felt the deep desire to be next to her husband ‘coz that was her Dharma.
May be Lakshamana must have reasoned Urmila’s presence to divert his attention in the service of beloved Rama-Sita to an extent. Thus he would have left behind Urmila.
At that moment, when Lakshamana left Urmila in Ayodhya she must have underwent the turmoil of not being able to provide her service to her lord when he would be tired fighting demons, she must have felt the whole world of no use in living away for him, she would have envied the dedication of Lakshamana for Rama-Sita for a moment, she would have shed unstoppable tears in the sweet memories of her soul mate, she would have not enjoyed the pleasures of the mansion, she would have given up tantalizing delicacies . . . a word about any of these is not even mentioned in Ramayana I read!

Ramayana is about glorifying the life of Rama - 50% incarnation of Vishnu
Lakshamana 25%, Bharat 12.5%, Nakul-Sahadev together 12.5% incarnation of Vishnu and Sita total incarnation of Lakshmi.
Our holy books are so biased that they are meant only for the glorification of the incarnation of God we created and there is no room for the feelings, emotions, and sacrifices of the humans.

Majority of we Indians follow Ramayana and how can we expect people to recognize the untold, unspoken sacrifices of our own kith & kin?
