Leonardo was enjoying a leisurely stroll. It was a fine evening and the air was always fresh here. He really did like his new life on Isola di Sorte, and was not eager in the slightest to figure out this time-disruption or whatever it was. In fact, Leonardo intended not to investigate the matter at all. That would mean he could stay here in this paradise as long as he wished.
When the library came into view Leonardo vaguely realized he was probably quite late, but he never let such things bother him. He turned the corner and saw Daken -- and Daken's really strange hair-do -- waiting for him.
"Ciao, Daken! I do hope you've not been waiting for me long. It is such a nice evening and I do enjoy a stroll. How are you?"
His reserve patience was beginning to run out. This man was never going to show, was he? He contemplated leaving several times. He stayed after he reminded himself he had nothing better to do than to stand here all evening and wait for Leonardo to show up.
He walked towards Leonardo as he approached.
"Buonasera Leonardo." He leaned over to kiss the other man on the cheek. "It's not a problem at all. I'm fine, and yourself?"
If Leonardo was surprised by the genial greeting he didn't show it other than to smile softly. Usually such familiar salutations were reserved for posh patrons he was socializing with.
"I'm quite well, thank you. I already have in mind the books I'm interested in, so hopefully I will not take much too much of your time."
The older (Leonardo thought he was the older, anyway) man lead them inside and immediately headed for the science section of the library. Once there, he began perusing the shelves until he found what he was looking for: books on aerodynamics and physics. As he selected a few, he conversed with Daken.
"How are you finding your stay on the island so far? I'm rather enjoying myself. The people are quite fascinating." Leonardo sent a warm smile Daken's way to indicate he was one of those people.
Leave it to the Italian to be completely nonplussed by such a familiar greeting. It had been a pet project of his to test the comfort zones of those he had come into contact with. He'd have to try harder to get a reaction, apparently.
"Take as much time as you need, signore, we have nothing but time here. To be frank, I'm getting bored."
He took the books from Leonardo once they left the shelves. He was deceptively strong for his stature. His strength was something he gained through training and not birth, so luckily the island hadn't been able to take it away from him.
"It's been an interesting stay, to say the least. I didn't expect to arrive here but now that I'm here I should make the best of it, right?" He paused to take another book. "I'm interested in the people myself. There's a lot more to them than meets the eye." He smiled right back to indicate he was talking about himself.
Ah, a possible interesting conversationalist, this one. Leonardo was pleased.
"There most definitely is. Though to my eyes, outdated as they are, most everything here is coming as a surprise. It is hard not to be impressed by even the most mundane of things." Like your hair, Daken.
Leonardo smiled softly and looked back at the books. He picked out one more on aerial warfare, which he handed off before moving on to another section of the library. "Do you mind if I ask how old you are, signore?"
