Chapter 4: Piece of Paper
Will spent all weekend contemplating how he would go about finding out the truth about the paper. He figured he'd wait it out till Monday and then do some investigating at lunch. He knew something was going on. He just wasn't quite sure.
Monday rolled around and Will was ready. He literally tuned out during his classes. Lunch was the only thing on his mind. He saw Brett talking to Gavin. He went around and hid behind the bushes. A perfect spot to transfer the dialog into the Book of Truth.
"Did you get it?" asked Brett.
"Yeah. My dad was a little suspicious but I played it cool. I know you guys won't let us down." Who was "you guys"?
The two left and Will was left wondering.
In 6th someone actually spoke to Will, Courtney Smith.
"Hey, You're Willard Spellman, right?"
"I prefer Will" he said with a smirk on his face.
Over the week the two grew closer. Eventually Will came to trust her. He revealed his plan. She was shocked, but intrigued.
"Oh. Brett Wilson, huh?"
"Yeah. I know he's doing something."
Courtney and Will were inching closer to the answer. Everyday knew plans were found. New thoughts, ideas. At lunch Courtney did some research and reported back to Will.
"It turns out that Mr. Michaelchuck(Gavin's dad) and Mr. Wilson (Brett's dad) are both very wealthy, hot shot business men. The two had a deal in 99 that went bad, especially for Gavin's dad. Apparently Mr. Wilson's been trying to repay him, somehow. But I'm guessing they'll need a lotta room for their "business".
That night the two of them snuck into the Wilsons' house. Courtney happened to be a Femme Nikita. Now if they were hiding something they'd need room, lots of room. The big empty room from friday night came to mind. They scurried quietly up the stairs and to the room. Will reached for the door and...
"Courtney, whadda ya think you're doin'?"
