So I've had my resume posted on Monster.com since March 16, and I got an email this morning from a recruiter at Family Heritage Life Insurance Company telling me that they have an interview slot set up for me at 10am Wed. morning and that if I'm interested I should email back to confirm the date and time. They also gave me the URL for Family Heritage Life's website.
So the job specs in the email they sent me sounded fabulous, so I went to the website to check it out. Very friendly-looking, VERY easy to navigate (user-friendliness is something I look for in potential employers' websites), and they cited legitimate sources for the claims they made, and have won awards from legitimate companies, and are affiliated w. NUMEROUS legitimate charities (including the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Wigs for Kids, just to name two), and in reading nearly the entire website, I found that everything they said, they said consistently throughout the entire website, and so I responded to the email and said I would be there on Wed. at 10am.
So, I have a job interview set up for Wednesday morning. This job op seems REALLY amazing, it's a no-experience-necessary, we-train-you entry-level position in a company where there is a HUGE opportunity for personal growth and development and moving up the corporate ladder, PLUS there's the opportunity to set my own schedule which is a NECESSITY for me as a university student.
So I updated my resume and reference list that I have on my flash drive, and when I get home I'll print them out on nice beige linen watermarked paper to bring with me to the interview along w. the numerous questions I now have after reading nearly their entire website.
I'm also now VERY familiar w. the company and their principles and way of doing things now that I've read the website, and so that will help me fare well at the interview.
Anyway, enough rambling (which is what this is turning into now that I've already said all the basics), and I'm STARVING and need to go buy interview clothes as well, so I'm going to end this post here and go eat and shop.
WISH ME LUCK!!!
