Can you.... OVER sell something? Yes, you can.

Much to my happiness, mikeyylee posted a helpful site that included a way to save me from a glitch I was unaware of. This was very lucky for me, as I would have run into it otherwise, and would have had to restart. Nothing, absolutely nothing, makes me more upset than having my time wasted. In any way. I'm a very unemotional person, really, but if there is one thing that will always make me mad... it's that. Don't waste my motherfucking time.

Anyway, after reading this site about a hundred times just to make sure I had it down, I noticed a link at the bottom that went to a review of the Skyward Sword game. My curiosity literally took over my brain like a zombie virus and I immediately went to read what the person thought. I was sure that they couldn't say anything bad about it.

But you know what? I was horribly, terribly correct. That man loved this game so much, I could barely read through the uncomfortably long fan mush that he had written. Keep in mind, I went into this review loving this game almost as much as he did. But once I got through it, I thought that if I even have to SEE this game within the next three days, I'm going to vomit my internal organs. It was the oddest, creepiest review I had ever read. And it was written in such a scholarly tone, that my brain almost died from the unholy combination of nerd love and reviewing diction. It was like sitting down with a fan girl and seriously discussing the political pros and cons of Naruto. I felt violated.

It's not really the first time either. People don't respond well to an "all-positive" outlook. But there's always that total fan coming along, trying (and failing) to convince you that this thing or whatever is SO GREAT by telling you all the great stuff about it. If you want to make a serious argument about something, you have to realize that you must address the opposing side's arguments too, even if you believe there is no opposing side. That's a fundamental part of arguing. It irks me to see people ignoring it. But, you know, whatever. It's not so awful that it's worth getting upset about, or anything....
