What is this world coming to?
So I've made up my mind. I'm writing a letter to the editor and sending it in to the Union Tribune. I'm focusing on my view of the U.S., it's future, it's citizens, and this presidential campaign. I don't care what it takes I'm going to have my voice heard because i can't stand this anymore. A quote that comes to my mind right now "Tearing Heaven down and building up a whore" or something to that effect. It's from The Cruscible and is a pretty clear depiction of what a huge chunk of society is doing. Humanity is throwing away all of its morals without a care in the world and everytime someone steps up and says that its wrong or the word morals is mentioned people are so quick to point an accusing fingur and say what a horable person they are. They're mixing religion with polotics and we can't have that here in the U.S. Ohhhhh no here we have to accept everyone for who they are and not question what they do and give them everything they ask for.
I remember during one of the presidential debates they asked President Bush if he thought that sexuality was innate or a choice. He honestly said that he didn't know. But that we must be understanding because they have rights too. However marriage must remain what it has allways been and that is the sanctified unity between a man and a woman. No matter what anyone says i have an incredible amount of respect for this man. What he said was dignified and respectable and in my opinion absolutely correct.
I don't want to go into the discussion of sexuality right now though because I'll do that later when i can really right and make an intelligent argument. There is one thing I'm trying to get across to everyone at this moment though and that is this....
As a Christian I will confess that many of my beliefs and opinions are based on the Bible and I have no shame in saying that. The history of our nation and our system of government as a democracy was founded and based opon the Christian faith. Now many would have us forget our past and live in a world in which everyone can do what they want and there are no restrictions. We need some place to look for a rule book, for guidlines and thats the best thing I've found. If we lose our values and standards where does that leave us. If we aren't careful, with time there won't be a thread left that seperates us from the animals. I'm not just talking about this business with sexuality i'm talking about everything we do. How we dress, how we behave, how we speak. Just think about it please! And I mean really think. For everyone who is against President Bush im sorry. He has his share of faults the same as any other human being. I can understand if people don't like him, but if you think Kerry is better I encourage you to reconsider. Take a look into his past, the man has betrayed our country, lied, harmed himself just to get those purple hearts, and then he comes back and throws it all in the government's face. He has no class, dignity, nor loyalty and respect for the country in which he lives. He's against the War on Terrorism...calls it murder or w/e. In my opinion abortion, which the democratic party supports is far far FAR worse and inhumane than what is happening in Iraq.
I'm going to end it at that, but I have a lot more to say. Philip, I think I'm just going to right my book on this. "Politics In the Mind of a 16 Year-old" lol how's that sound? Another thing I'm seriously considering going into politics. If you don't think it's a good idea please don't discourage me. Maybe I'll shoot for president of the United States, who knows. Again I'm totally serious. I don't enjoy seeing corrupted politions in control and I know I would like to see someone with values like mine out there. Allright well feel free to comment. sorry it was so long.
