Thank you! There are so many stories about Toby dealing with Chris's death, I thought it would be interesting to turn it upside down for a change. I think Chris would've had just as hard a time rebounding from Toby's death as Toby did from his. (Maybe more.)

This is beautiful and heartbreaking. It's a good feeling, though, knowing Chris can still redeem himself and make it into heaven with Toby some day.

Thank you! YES, this was sort of a twist on the whole "God doesn't have the balls to keep us out (of heaven)" proclamation. Toby just got there first, surprisingly. (And I have no doubt that he was successful in his mission to have Chris join him eventually. :D)

I love that Toby haunts the storage room. It's the perfect place for him to perv on Keller from the afterlife.

The exchange between Keller and Said was nice. I can see the two of them bonding over their connection to Beecher.

Thank you! I run so hot-and-cold when it comes to Said. I hated him whenever he was trying to keep Toby away from Chris (which he seemed to do a lot), but I liked him otherwise. Forming a post-Beecher relationship with Keller (platonic!) would go a long way toward increasing his standing with me, and I really liked hinting at the idea that this would eventually happen. I'm glad you saw it that way!

What a lovely, sweet ending. I particularly liked the moment shared between Said and Keller, here, and that Toby's been able to find some serenity, in the afterlife.

Thank you! I figured at this point and time in his life, Toby was as "good" a man as he was ever going to be. Hopefully, he would've been rewarded for that, if Vern's stab wound had proven to be fatal.

Initially, I thought about having angel!Toby visit Said, like he did with Chris and Vern, to help ease any guilt Said might've felt about his role in his death. Then I figured Chris wouldn't take kindly to that development. So I decided I'd turn it around and set it up so that Chris was actually the one who'd make Said feel better. And I think that worked out nicely for everyone. ;-)
