If you're in SHINee World, you probably have heard of the Minho nose saga. Apparently
some pictures cropped up that suggests that our 17 year old Minho has gotten the tip of his nose done. I was like omfg when I saw the news at first. Seriously Minho? Minho? Minho is the last person I'd ever think of. And Minho's nose is one of the last things I would ever think of fixing.
But seriously, when you see that picture, don't you think it's true? That's what I thought too. But then I saw other pictures that suggest otherwise.
This taken recently looks normal. If I hadn't known about the plastic surgery everyone's been talking about, I would not have noticed if he had changed it. And then there's..
It's not as bad as the first picture posted above. But yeah it doesn't look the same. I don't know... People say that its different camera lighting, different angle, Minho wouldnt have had time to recover since they weren't really on a 'break' if they were seen appearing here and there everywhere... But what if they're just in denial? They could be.
I don't know...
The first 2 pics was saved by me way before this happened, so I am pretty sure they aren't doctored. The 3rd pic is the apparent nosejob after pic. I'm not sure if his Seoul Sparkling Concert nose was an after pic too or not. It kinda looks fine to me in these pics... somehow :/
But then when you think about it.. why change Minho's nose? IF there was something in SHINee that needed to be changed... I think Jonghyun's nose is pretty large, no? And Onew and Key's eyes are single-lidded. Why Minho's nose?
And it's scary how people think that plastic surgery is "okay" simply because its "normal" and "a lot of people do it". Just because a lot of people do it doesn't make it alright in my view.
I don't get it why stars get plastic surgery after debut. It's so obvious, everyone will KNOW you did it. Isn't it embarrassing? You'd be like... oh, that person who did his nose. Or worse, your name will be used like a stereotyping label. Like how Minho's being called the male Seo In Young (how insulting lol). I know it's a common thing in Korea, but if the Korean fans are ardently posting before/after pics and generating a lot of hooha about it, then I'm guessing plastic surgery is STILL a controversial issue?
And I absolutely hate it when people tell me "All koreans have plastic surgery" when I gush about how handsome they look. I always used to tell them that they were wrong, not ALL of them do it, some of them are naturally good-looking. And I will say "No, I'm definitely sure SHINee hasnt gotten anything done. I saw their predebut pics, it's all the same." I want to continue being PROUD of SHINee because of this. I want to brag to everyone that I like a group that have it all, talent, personality AND natural good looks. Especially in an industry where plastic surgery is so normal that people have started to assume that everyone that looks good, must have had it. I want SHINee to be that group that is different, and to prove all these "All Koreans have plastic surgery" believers wrong.
(Notice why I don't use DBSK in my argument. Lol. Honestly, I think some of them have gotten things done. A little here and there. Jaejoong... He's changed a bit. But even though he did it, I wouldn't hate him or love him less. He still has talent, and personality. I just wouldn't be able to defend him when people say he's a product of plastic surgery.)
So, if Minho did it, I will be very very disappointed (not in Minho, just disappointed) because SHINee cannot be that group to prove those people wrong. I understand there are other factors like about how SM might've made him do it, etc etc. But it doesn't change the fact that it has been done. If Minho didn't do it, I WILL BE SO THANKFUL. I will continue to proudly tell all my friends how they're naturally handsome and talented boys.
But I won't stop supporting SHINee or anything like that. They still have crazy talent. It's just that, they'd have an edge if they didn't get anything done.
