Had an excellent day mining for leads--I more than doubled my spreadsheet, and found several directories to give to Dolly for future prospecting. I stumbled on a way to find more listings, and it really paid off. I got in a full 25 hour week (the max I can work) and am off to Mb's shortly ( Read more... )

Yahoo! for a great workweek and new skills!

We have family visiting today, so we've been cleaning house, bathing the dogs and doing a few little house-fixing chores we'd been putting off. I finally hemmed the too-long voile sheers that hang on the glass wall of the room we use as an office (it's a converted porch) and it was just as big of a pain in the butt as I expected. The feeling never completely came back in the tip of my right index finger after the disc surgery, and it makes hand-sewing a lot harder than it used to be. Small price, I suppose, but it's still annoying.

I can only imagine what a nuisance the numbness is, but as long as you still have range of motion, it could be worse.

"Pain in the ass sewing project" will always make me think of overhauling my "disco ball" dress for Doc's wedding. Slippery chiffon did not want to be machine stitched; I ended up doing it all by hand, including the top and bottom edges of the band of sequined trim that went around my waist. (I've got to get a picture of that thing 'on' before I pass it on...there's a local organization that collects pro wear for girls in need, and I understand theres always a need for plus sizes.)

It's so amazing to be getting out from under the cloud of dread and doom. It's still a bit overcast, metaphorically, but at least it's sprinkling instead of raining pitchforks.

(Not a bad metaphor for three hours sleep....)
